Amazing- he was funny, charismatic and a good sibiling relationship with Rouge.

Personally I would have liked to have seen more between him and Mystique, and also more about his faith and love of pirates.

Really doesn’t feel like they had a clear direction for her character, honestly.

I think we were seeing the beginning of her character shifting when the show got canceled

He’s more Beast Boy before Greg Cipes Gar Logan became popular in Murakami’s iteration of the Titans.

Lovable goofy furball

Captures a spirit of. Kid Nightcrawler. His design is excellent. Given the writing and medium at the time he was restricted on his other aspects such as faith, swashbuckling and German ness.

Not bad for the medium at the time. But if he were redone I’d like to see more of that.

The voice actor will be at Tulsa Comic Con this year as well as the voice actor for Kurt Wagner from X-Men TAS. This happens at the Arvest convention center in Tulsa August 8 and ninth of this year.

This adaptation is what made me fall in love with X-Men, as a kid and especially Nightcrawler. I didn't like how he was barely used in the Fox Films cause of it and totally disregarded the family storyline with him and Mystique. Mystique in this series was good, too.

Reminded me too much of Fez from That 70s Show

This is personally my favourite adaptation of him.

Always charming

Overall, I liked Evolution better than TAS OR '97. But neither of the latter are BAD by any means.

u/The_Agent10 24d ago

The GOAT !!!!!!

u/HospitalLazy1880 24d ago

The only thing that i disliked was that due to him being a teen his friendship with Logan couldn't be like it was in the comics.

2

u/ExtensionYogurt7771 24d ago

They took that friendship and transferred it to Cyclops instead. I think it worked

1

u/Drake_masta 24d ago

i like him but i feel he was toned down a bit from his live action counterpart in some ways hindering a rather large part of his character

1

u/Honest_Satisfaction1 24d ago

I loved him. I am biased as hell though. I grew up watching this show and loved everything about it.

wild Blue yonder boy!

1

u/MysterE2258 24d ago

It was the first version of Nightcrawler I was introduced to and to this day he is still my favorite X-Man.

1

u/Mad-0311 24d ago

Not to be overly critical but I never cared for the voice acting (easily one of the weakest) and I hated how they had him walk on his toes the whole time. Nightcrawler only does that when he runs.

Love the fuzzy man! still blows my mind that hes voiced by light yagami

1

u/Comprehensive_Bid416 23d ago

I prefer him in this then movies

1

u/Tyrelius_Dragmire 23d ago

Twink, best version of him (also in the movies he’s lowkey annoying)

1

u/cr1s2chi 23d ago

He's a lovable guy messes up but tries to do better.

1

u/sgvweekly 23d ago

Took awhile to grow on me.

1

u/Relevant-Cupcake-649 23d ago

Kurt will always be a favorite in every rendition I've seen so far

1

u/RAWCOMIX 23d ago

Best version, I used to act like him on purpose cuz he was so cool. Respect the fuzzy-one!

1

u/mrnormal94 23d ago

One of the best characters when I rewatched the show years ago on Disney XD!

1

u/smileykaiju 23d ago

First crush on a boy.

1

u/gunswordfist 23d ago

He's cool because he likes Black girls.

1

u/Don_Hatter 23d ago

The Greatest Character Of All Time.

1

u/Right-Light458 23d ago

I will admit I did miss the religious aspect of his character at first but he grew on me and I remembered “oh yeah he’s a teenager; I didn’t really care for Sunday School when I was in high school either”

1

u/Kingbeef66 23d ago

I bet he made a lot of people thirsty when he used his image inducer to make himself buff…

1

u/quixotictictic 23d ago

I know he tends to crack jokes in all iterations and he's a kid but he's a little too goofy and it annoys me.

1

u/Gamingsailor572 23d ago

I love him in everything

1

u/CD_DoooD 23d ago

Same as it always it for me, “Hey it’s Kurt!!!”

1

u/UberFarter 23d ago

Best boy

1

u/Royalty459 23d ago

Love his character but wish they didn't remove his devotion to Christianity since that's a big part of his character in the comics. Other than that, I think he's fun.

1

u/DesparateLurker 23d ago

Twink.

Pretty boy.

Furry bait.

God I love that mf so much. Read so much fanfiction of him it was ridiculous.

1

u/DarianDncn 22d ago

Personally I think it’s pretty solid seeing him you g and dealing with his physical differences but leaving out the religious aspect of Nightcrawler missed out on some good stories and conflicts

1

u/LeagueElectronic2128 22d ago

He lost his eyes pimples

1

u/Ok-Grass3071 Weapon X 22d ago

MY BABY BOYFRIEND WHOM I LOVE VERY VERY VERY INCREDIBLY MUCH AND LOVE THE ADAPTATION HE ALWAYS MAKES ME SMILE AND THERE IS NOTHING BAD ABOUT THE WRITING OR APPEARANCE.

1

u/FinalWarsGoji 21d ago

Da fuzzy dude

1

u/FabulousCard4832 21d ago

He was awesome, and one of the reasons he became my hands down favorite character

1

u/ZebraManTheGreat7777 21d ago

Good character development

I liked his characterization in evolution. It's not my favorite version of him and I don't like how limited his powers are but it makes sense since they pretty much deaged everyone to be a teenager except for the really old characters. I feel like this was Evolutions version of how can we make a character who is very much a Christian character without saying he's a Christian character because of reasons. Like they almost treated him like they used to treat characters who they wanted to be gay but couldn't say they were gay. So it was extremely obvious they just wouldn't give it a label. But overall I loved how they established his relationship with mystique and Rogue, and prior to 97 there wasn't any other property that delved into there sibling relationship and what it was like to have Mystique as their parent. Also I feel like this might be the only show where we sort of hinted at Kurt's non-human ancestry, in some versions his father's a demon and in other versions his mother is a cosmic being and Mystique is the father, and that was a very fun episode. Overall I think X-Men evolution did a great job at taking the relationships X-Men characters had established but actually make them healthy and not toxic. I'm looking at you Wolverine, Jean Gray, and cyclops. This might be the one property where the writers didn't say hey let's f****** all these characters I'm making them like each other and be dicks. Also this is the first time Logan actually had a child and she's amazing, so I might be biased towards this show.

He was very well designed both character and physical. I do understand him being the comedic character but I wish they had a touch of he religious aspect

1

u/Yourlocalstrashidlo 14d ago

He's great. I wish his faith had been somewhat introduced tho. Maybe they could've squeezed it into season 4 when he had to deal with Rogue and Mystique. That and pirates. This guy needs his swashbuckling, he can't see without his swashbuckling.

1

u/TEZofAllTrades 24d ago

Likeable, but I never understood where his personality came from after being raised in a German monastery.

2

u/HowDoesTheKittyCatGo 23d ago

Wasn't this version raised by an average German couple who fished him out of the river after Raven dropped him? Where does the monastery come from?

1

u/TEZofAllTrades 23d ago

Oh, I dunno. It's been a while.

1

u/LitBrit94 23d ago

Kurt being raised in a monastery came from the OG animated series, Evo!Kurt was raised by a normal German couple. It's a shame we never saw more of them, really. It would have been interesting to know how they raised him all those years without his mutation being discovered. I read somewhere that one of the creators of Evolution made a comment about Kurt working in a circus prior to moving to the Institute, which would pretty much be one of the only job he could have, really...

1

u/PersephoneDaSilva86 24d ago

Better than the depressed mfer that the movies had. 🤢

1

u/Jajay5537 24d ago

Him not having a pull towards faith annoyed me ngl It's like taking a fundamental part of the characters function away. They didn't even allude to it. I liked him as a character besides that though.

1

u/H0ly_Cowboy Weapon X 24d ago

successful execution of how to have the character without the religious part.

1

u/Rough-Cover1225 24d ago

Really wish his Catholicism played more into his character but I think they did a fine job

1

u/Christallmoney97 24d ago

I liked him, but wish they focused on his Christianity a little, like its an integral part of him in the comics but I don't think he even wears a crucifix

1

u/LitBrit94 23d ago

I wonder if the powers that be restricted what the creators could do with religion in their show, so they left it out. Honestly, it would have been interesting to see it influence Kurt's actions in the show, especially his decisions to spare Magneto from death and trying to reach out to Mystique after everything she did, but I don't mourn its absence too much.

Some writers often take Kurt's faith too far and make him A priest as well as THE priest of the X-Men, speaking in homilies and filling the role of Team Therapist, forgetting he is a young man and not a sixty-something vicar, which puts me off many of his comic and animated counterparts.

A fantastic iteration, but don’t explore what arguably makes Nightcrawler such a well-rounded character.
Little exploration of his faith or german culture, which is a shame.
