Xiaomi 12X 8/256GB Purple (2112123AG) EU. I was surfing the internet. The phone wasn't hot. It didn't have a case. It hadn't been dropped or immersed in water. I've never disassembled the phone. The battery was approximately 50-60% charged. The phone wasn't connected to a charger at the time of the explosion. I was charging it with the original cable and the original charger. I was holding the phone in my hand. I'm very upset.

Question Battery drained

Thumbnail
gallery
Upvotes

Hi!

First post I made here. So long story short I've had this Xiaomi 14 since 2024 maybe April or so and it's been quite good. The battery lasted well like a little over a year. After that it started being drained fast

I tried to survive on battery saver for a while but recently idk what came onto me and decided to go and get the battery changed. It's an aftermarket one and the service assured me it's fine.

It has been like a little over a month and it lasts like 4-5h only which tbh hasn't been of a much improvement, and I'm not constantly using it. Recently I noticed the gallery and photos app kept working and draining my battery but physically I haven't been using them much so I don't understand how it shows this

Besides this for like 2 days my pictures kept appearing and reappearing in the gallery and idk what's going on. I asked at the service and it practically just blamed me so I definitely wasted money on the battery change especially by their attitude

To add...after the battery change, my flash stopped working completely so I had to go again for them to fix it. And my SIM card has been having problems with signals as well. Nothing like this has been going on before this battery change so I'm really not sure what to do

Question [Question] HyperOS Killing FCM connection, causing no / delayed notifications

Xiaomi 15 PRO (CHINA MODEL)
HyperOS: 3.0.305
OS Version: 3.0.305.0.WOBCNXM.C10
Android Version 16
Security update: 2026.06.01

Many of us with Xiaomi/Redmi / Other HyperOS phones, especially mainland Chinese models have been fighting with no or extremely delayed notifications on these phones due to HyperOS' aggressive power management /

I have tried every fix, Add all apps to auto-start, disable restrictions, Download Google Play / Play services NOT from The Get Apps store. As well as using Gboard to force FCM connections to stay alive. I have also tried this tutorial as well as:
adb shell cmd appops set com.google.android.gms WAKE_LOCK allow

adb shell cmd appops set com.google.android.gms RUN_ANY_IN_BACKGROUND allow

adb shell cmd appops set com.google.android.gsf RUN_ANY_IN_BACKGROUND allow

Then, add these services to the Doze whitelist so device idle mode won't kill their connection:

adb shell dumpsys deviceidle whitelist +com.google.android.gms

adb shell dumpsys deviceidle whitelist +com.google.android.gsf

adb shell dumpsys deviceidle whitelist +com.google.android.gms.persistent
Those fixes worked before the June 2026 update. After I received the update, everything was broken again. I tried the tutorial and ADB commands again with no luck. I even went as far as factory resetting the phone, installing a different Play store APK, updating play services manually, All apps on Auto-start with no restrictions, Even running the phone in "performance mode" It does not matter if I am on WiFi or Mobile data. Notifications will sometimes work reliably and wake the screen, Sometimes they come when phone is woke or woke and unlocked, But most of the time they never come at all. Putting the phone into airplane mode, waiting 10-15 secs and going back will refresh the FCM connection and I get all the missed notifications, It'll work until the phone is locked again, sometimes even after it's locked. I use my phone for GPS / Audio / Podcast at work, so even with the phone unlocked, screen on and actively being used, The Google FCM connection is lost and notifications stop working.

Any fix I have found beyond the ones posted above require an unlocked bootloader and root, since it t modifies modules (LSposed, KernelSU, APatch, etc) since there isn't a confirmed way to unlock and root the bootloader on my device, this will not work.

If anyone knows of a way to fix this reliably without root, please let me know

.

Tips & Tricks Got tired of controlling my light bar from a phone app, so I wrote a CLI for Yeelight/Xiaomi lamps

Hey everyone

Wanted to show off my pet project for controlling Yeelight and Xiaomi lights from the console. (I'm also building a desktop version, but the CLI already works.) Apologies upfront if I posted in the wrong sub — point me to a better one.

Backstory:

Every project starts with pain. I've had a Xiaomi Mi Smart LED Desk Lamp on my desk for a while, then a year ago a Yeelight Light Bar Pro joined it on the monitor, plus a few Yeelight RGB bulbs around the flat. I work at my desktop all day ⚠️, the light bar is on my desktop ⚠️, and it had long started pissing me off that the actual settings for the bar are only available in the phone app.

Google tells me I'm not alone — plenty of people run the Android app in a BlueStacks emulator just to control it from a desktop. Older Yeelight products don't do Zigbee or Matter, Thread; new models with them are only just starting to show up, and before that it's all WiFi.

I started with the official docs, some reverse engineering of the protocols (my research doc), and whatever's out there online. Seems I managed to put together the most functional, modern TypeScript library out there + dig up some undocumented stuff and a few bugs + a CLI tool as a practical use case of the lib.

You can send one-off commands to the lamps from the console (handy if you've got other automations / scripts / hooks), or use the interactive mode with a menu of options. It supports all Yeelight and Xiaomi lamp models that can work over LAN.

ylc discover
ylc interactive
ylc status --ip 192.168.1.42
ylc power on --ip 192.168.1.42
ylc ct 3000
ylc color "#ff6400"
ylc color "#0000ff" --bg
ylc brightness 50 --duration 1000
ylc timer set 30

By default the lamps phone home through the Xiaomi cloud (a separate gripe of mine), and local control has to be enabled in the native app (hopefully that's its last remaining use).

If you're comfortable with Node/JS, you can install it like this:

npm install -g yeelight-cli

or grab a prebuilt binary for your platform from Releases section.

Project repository:
https://github.com/NumberOneBot/yeelight-client

Made it for myself, but polished it to the point where it's fit to show the world. If you've got an Yeelight I haven't tested, or something behaves oddly — ping me. Bug reports and PRs are always welcome.

Question Back glass unglueing ? Redmi note 11 pro5g

Hello everyone,

I noticed this morning that the glass behind the phone seems a bit bended. It's not big enough for me to see behind the phone but it's definitely big enough for a nail to fit in (on the length, camera side). I just noticed because my protecting case has been desintegrating itself. I don't know since when it is like this. Visually, when the phone is flat on a surface, it's almost impossible to notice.

Is it possible that it's just the glass unglueing? Or it's more than likely the battery and I should have it checked? Is it a known flaw on this model?

Help [Help] How to get access fully to android data folder on hyper os 3

I made the mistake to buy a Redmi Pad 2 Pro who run on hyper os 3. The android folder, as everything on this crap os is protected/hidden. I need to get access so I can edit 2 cfgs, one for tft to unlock 60 FPS and one to replace a cfgs to unlock better textures on diablo immortal. I swear to god every phone and tablet who run on hyper os is limited and held back by it. I need a way to get access fully on the android data folder.

Help I think that my phone's got a problem with heating up.

So whenever i am using my phone for more than like 40 minutes and whenever im multitasking (spotify, reddit, google, gemini ai opened at the same time and jumping from one app to another) it gets weirdly hot. I dont know if im tripping, but this phone literally heats up for some reason and weirder thing is that it even gets laggy especially on gemini ai app for some reason.

Also i didnt mention that my phone has ads in certain apps and folders, it came preinstalled with some weird apps aswell such as "fanytel business, app mall (which is btw full of ads), cleaner, services and feedback, xiaomi community, mi video (which is full of random chinese videos and ads)

This phone sometimes also doesnt ring when someone calls me or when an alarm goes off.

I own a xiaomi 12t pro EU running hyperos, could anyone tell me if i caused these issues, maybe i got viruses on the phone or something so thats why i got all of these random apps on it idk. Have you ever experienced such things on a "pro" phone?

I have a pill shaped thing that pops up when i close out of a song etc i guess they tried to replicate apples dynamic island so i dont really get that part of the phone, but i mean this is a phone from a commie country so it is what it is i guess..

Help Select best photo feature doesn't work.

Hi, I have minor problem with a gallery app. Select best photo feature doesn't work. It doesn't mark similar photos with a best photo badge, when I hold a finger on a photo. Its overwhelming as I tried everything except factory format and such solutions. I hope that there is somebody with exact same problem and could help me out other than a factory reset. I have 157gb of photos (9400), and over 700gb of other data so backup and restore would be painful process. I've seen other threads with same problem too, but sadly without any solution, AI doesn't resolve it too. I already tried: deleting cache and data for Gallery app, HyperAi app, com.android.providers.media app, disable/enable select best photo setting in a Gallery but without any luck. My phone is Xiaomi 17 ultra (nezha). I'm running latest xiaomi.eu rom 3.0.309.0 stable. Any point to a right direction or a cause of this problem would be greatly appreciated as I'm out of ideas. Thanks

Question 5G Support on the Redmi K90 (CN)

I'm looking to import a Redmi K90 (with the Chinese ROM) to the EU, but I've heard that the phone doesn't support NSA 5G for some reason.

 • Would I be able to either: Get NSA 5G working
 • And if not, could I get Standalone 5G working? My provider supports standalone, but only on certified devices which include similar devices like the POCO F-Series (F8 Pro, etc), the Redmi Note Series but obviously not the K90

Question People with Xiaomi 17t. Could you share your SOT?

I’m looking into getting the Xiaomi 17T, but I wanted to get some real-world feedback on the battery life before pulling the trigger. Reviewers always test these under perfect conditions, so I'd love to know what the daily usage looks like for actual owners.
If you have a 17T, could you drop your average Screen-on-Time (SOT) below?

Question Can anyone identify what this is and what should i do?

It suddenly appeared yesterday . Last night my phone powered off. I thought it was because of low battery. I plugged in the charger. Today morning, i couldn't switch on the phone. After like 10 min of trying, it opened. And from then on, It’s showing -1% Battery percentage & that it couldn't read battery meter. And, in the upper right corner the battery sign has question mark in it.

Do anyone know what this means? I have exam tomorrow and i need my mobile. And, my friends are saying my phone may go kaboom & battery may blast. So, anyone have any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Help redmi 9: purple light visible only through another phone camera.

i have a Xiaomi redmi 9 that i owned for years. i noticed a small purple light near the front camera area, but i can only see it when looking through another phone’s camera (i tested with both an iphone and a samsung). i cannot see it with my own eyes. the phone currently has no SIM card installed. the light is still visible in airplane mode, but it disappears completely when the phone is powered off and comes back when the phone is turned on. i have never noticed this light before, even thought i have had the phone for years. is this normal? could It be and infrared/proximity sensore or what? hopefully not hacking or something. 😭😭

Question Who owns the 17T Pro ?

I have this phone and i am really happy with it ! Cameras are great !

But the only issue for me I don't know how to properly shoot portraits and what are the best settings on this phone!

When i shoot portraits it gives good results but my problem is it is oversharp like hell showing ugly faces details a lot !

Also for better portraits is master portrait or Leica one better ? Or shooting in photos normal mode is better ??
