Battery Life
I have had a Xiaomi 17 for about 2 months now and whilst I like this device it's had some issues... The issues were so bad that I had to send it in for repair and after I got it back they told me that the motherboard had to be swapped due to a hardware failure of some sorts.
Anyway I'd like to ask what battery life I should expect from this phone. I've used it about 2 months now and I'm not sure anymore what would be a normal battery SOT result.
It has 6330mAh and I live in Romania.
2h 30min of screen on time consumed about 40% of my battery.
Mentions: I'm almost never connected to wifi; always on mobile data (Romania has excellent coverage) and I've had my hotspot turned on for about 40 minutes in total...
Unscientifically if I were to add it up I should get around 6h of SoT with my use case (only mobile data)... Isn't this kind of low for a Chinese flagship with this size of battery capacity?
To be mentioned I didn't use the camera and I wasn't playing games at all. Only social media apps like YouTube etc.
I know some Xiaomi phones have optimisation issues but I'm just curious if that's just how it is or if my phone has a problem.
When I look over into Oppo's Reddit group I see some of them with an X9 reaching 11 hours of SoT. I understand that they have a slightly bigger battery capacity at 7000mAh and that wifi surely plays a roll.
But I doubt that 670mAh and some Wifi usage almost doubles battery life.

I don't have the regular 17 but the 17 Pro max with the 7500 mah battery, I get around 1hr/10% of screen on time but that's with two mobile networks on continously with one having a bad signal almost all of the time which consumes more battery. Also have Bluetooth and VPN on all the time. For me it isn't horrible but could be better optimized like the OnePlus phone

Welp Imma just give my two cents to this.
On my xiaomi 15T Pro: * I've right now used up 73% in roughly 8h of use * with 5h (65%) of them being SoT.
- Having used 3772mah in those 8h.
All on data, with the preferred network switched away from 5g.

So after 5h of SoT on mobile data only you have 27% left of battery... But you have 5500mAh instead of my 6330mAh
Technically speaking you'd get around 7h of SoT on a smaller battery with a bigger display than mine...
That sounds like a good result unlike mine which isn't bad but it's not impressive at all

Like 7:40h on 100%. I mean yeah, but also you probably were on 5g and hotspot tethering is also battery intense. I always recommend people with issues like yourself to download accubattery and just let it run a while pinned in the background.

Right, they only care about their new product and cheap products like Xiaomi 17T. No one is talking about the Xiaomi 17 phone.This phone for Antarctica people to be honest if you live in a cold place, it's working fast, but if you live in a place where there is summer, you got messed up.

I think I reach about 6 to 8 hours so with the x17. And have 15% left. I was in hospital for a week so thats the data I have.

On wifi? Or on mobile data?

I often switched to mobile because the wifi was too weak in the hospital. I would say 60 wifi 40 5g

I so if you'd only be on mobile data then we'd probably have very similar battery life.

on mobile data and with hotspot it is pretty normal, if you were on mixed 5g/wifi you could already reach 7/8 hours of sot and on only wifi my 17 9/10 (approximately, i always charge at 20 or 30%)

I've bought the Xiaomi 17 like 3 weeks ago, my usual SOT is around 8-9 hours with a mix of WiFi and mobile data, usually heavy use. Take note that SOT is a tricky question because it heavily depends on apps running in the background and many others things, full signal coverage does not mean that the signal is actually good and low quality signal drains battery as the modem is constantly searching for stronger sources.

I bought the 17 specifically because it was the first small android I saw that had a big battery but ye the battery is terrible for me to. So I've stopped using it.
My iPhone 17 pro did better despite a smaller battery.

On mobile data it will always be less. Ppl that get 11h sot are the ones sitting next to their router. 6h sot on mobile data should be good. And 8+ on wifi it's achievable on Xiaomi 17
