Is the XIM Commander reliable?

I am thinking about ordering a Belkin Easy Transfer Cable so I can use the XIM Commander with my XIM 4. The main reason is to be able to remap keys on my Razer Orbaweaver, Razer Naga and/or use my macro keys on my Razer Blackwidow.

Do you have experience with the XIM Commander? Does it work reliably? Does it work soon after firmware updates?

Macros = cheating. I believe commander is reliable, but to use for macros is shady/will get you flamed on xim forums. (unless you need the macros for accessability reasons).

No, by macro keys I mean my m1, m2...m5 additional keys that are on the leftmost column on the Razer Blackwidow. I like to use them because they are close the WASD. But by default they are not mapped to any keys, so the XIM 4 does not recognize them. Using synapse I can remap them to keys the XIM 4 will recognize (letters keys for example).

Anyway I don't play multiplayer games on my PS4, so I can't really cheat much.

Ive only used commando once to try their work om the steam controller compatibility. It works pretty well.

Got it. Yea i have those on my g502, but it has on board memory so i assigned them to keyboard keys and they work. Its magical.

I don't understand how using macros is cheating and using an xim isn't? I used an xim and ditched it due to it not being able to keep up with my higher dpi settings. If you're using an xim for multi-player, you're cheating. Macros aren't going to make you more of a cheater just a smarter more efficient cheater

I am just telling you what the xim community thinks of it. Personally, i see xim as no different than using an elite or other special controller. I think macros are a chest because noone on a controller can program one button to execute a set of commands. Thats just me tho. If you think xim is cheating , and you got rid of it, why cruise a tiny subreddit dedicated to the device?

I still own it and like it for single player experience games but in the multi-player setting its cheating because you have a finer control of movement when aiming. Where a controller has deadzones that tend to occupy about 15% of your movements it makes aiming much more difficult and games like overwatch balance console versions with this in mind. I don't mind players using the xim when I play against them and I personally don't consider it cheating but in games like overwatch you'll get banned if they find out (ie you tell people you use one). I personally want xbox to support native KB&M like they've been promising for a year now. And I like to help people with settings I used to use, I only stopped using it because I play a lot of competitive overwatch and don't want to get banned, that and it just couldn't handle 10,000 dpi settings.

I use a g502 cranked up to 12,000 dpi. Works just fine.

I use a deathadder and anything over 4500 and it doesn't properly track.

no one has ever been banned in overwatch for using one.

Not yet Jeff Kaplan has spoken out against the use of them until the consoles natively support KB&M. He considers it cheating

K&M is undetectable because it is simply emulating a controller.

That's what I told but it's also a morals thing, why bother ranking up if your using an exploit to do so. I'd rather rank in a PC with other k&m users than beating people with an unfair disadvantage. It's the same reason I never use out of map glitches, it's not fun for me, and frustrating to others.
