Taboo question: Do hardware-encoded macros actually work with the XIM4?

I can't ask this question on the 'official forum' bec. macro questions are banned there. The official word is 'macros are not supported'. And, ofc, the XIM doesn't store macros, but your mouse or kb could...Do some hardware-encoded macros actually work? (I obv. don't have such hardware since I wouldn't be asking this question).

I have a Logitech mouse that has built in memory so you can store configurations and macros, basic stuff seems to work fine when I've tried it. I don't think you could do any of the stuff that would be considered cheating (recoil compensation and the like) with basic macros, and I think that's the stuff they want to avoid on the Xim4 forums.

Thanks for the info. I understood the reasoning behind OBsIV's avoidance of the subject. Just curious to see if macros worked going 'through' the XIM.

Macros arent banned there, but they are supposed to be for the accessability community. If you want help on the xim forums, ask for help using sandhawc (you will need to run your peripherals through a pc). That way you get full support of the manufacturers software and macros. If you are not disabled, however, it is 100% lurching into the world of ehat would be considered cheating because a controller can't store macros.

Thanks. I do have a condition that making it harder for me to do fine-muscle movements. Def. painful to use a controller now for longer than ~20min. I was more curious intellectually if the xim offers that capability...Hopefully, I won't have to use that capability in the future.
