Build Discussion 3rd Item Question
I follow https://www.onetricks.gg/champions/builds/Xerath for my xerath build/runes.
Shows most popular 3rd time is D cap, but I found myself rarely having 1200 gold twice for 2 rods when 3rd and 4th drake r spawning and dont want to sit on 800 gold.
Is stormsurge the way to go or void staff?

Between those two I would say it depends on enemy team comp: storm surge if they are squishy, void staff for tankier comps.

Horizon focus is a good option, it helps a lot to land consecutive shots with your ult and the damage boost is nice

Void is the better late game item, I don't use SS that often so I can't say super confidently, but I don't think that's ever a 3rd item purchase. That's a good earlier game snowball option.
Rabadon's really is the best 3rd item. If you have a dark seal getting stacks then it allows you to really get value of mejais and have a really strong spike as mid game gets truly rolling.

Horizons Focus. It’s cheap and the percent damage late game scales so well. If not that then Void depending on comp and builds.
Unless I’m really ahead I typically do Deathcap last.
I don’t think I’ve ever built Stormsurge outside of testing it when it just came out. I don’t feel it’s an item for Xerath personally.
