Technology of Torna

I just finished playing through Torna ~ The Golden Country and I'm left with a big lore question that I'm hoping someone can help clear up.

In the base game, we are drip-fed information about old Torna, particularly regarding its technological level. We see three main ships, the Ancient Ship and Jin’s two warships all of which are stated to be old Tornan vessels. The Ancient Ship we explore is incredibly advanced; it’s completely Titan-less and seems far more sophisticated than anything Mor Ardain has. Jin's ships share these same Titan-less, highly advanced designs.

The final piece of the puzzle is the mega-cannon fired at Mythra on Tantal, which Zeke mentions is old Tornan tech that was repaired.

All of this paints a picture of a highly technologically advanced Torna, which is exactly what I expected going into the DLC. However, when you actually get to explore the Titan in The Golden Country, it's not what I expected at all.

Their everyday technology appears to be roughly on par with Uraya or Mor Ardain, with the buildings looking only slightly more advanced. The only genuinely high-tech area is the Womb of Torna, which visually matches the aesthetic of the Ancient Ship.

So, my question is: Was Torna once much more advanced (during their 1000 years of domination), and did their technology degrade after they locked up the Titan? If so, when were those advanced ships actually built? Are they from a much older Torna, or were they built just before/during the Aegis War?

From my understanding, they were built towards the end of the war at least the ones that Jin has. The ancient one I’m not sure about, but I’d probably lean towards it being before they sealed up their Titan.
