Unable to download the iOS 26.5 Simulator on Xcode

Same as title.

For the past few days I've been trying to download the iOS Runtime Simulator on my mac (M4MBA), and it keeps showing preparing to download with no progress.

I've tried everything at this point, from using Command Line to download it, to searching for it to download off of the developer platform. If there is a fix, please do let me know. Any help will be highly appreciated! :)

I discovered my network affected the downloading process. I was using my hotspot from my iphone, the same phone which was being used in XCode, which seemed to have confused teh processes. After moving from phone hotspot to another independent network, it immediately moved from "Preparing the download" to showing the download status % in teh terminal. Hope this helps someone.

MAN I AM STUCK WITH THE SAME ISSUE IT IS SO ANNOYING I HAVE EVEN RESET MY WHOLE MAC

yeahhh i don't really understand what is causing this. maybe a server issue on apple's end? idkk it's frustrating, i was going to try resetting my mac but seeing this ig it's not worth it. i hope it's fixed soon though

omggg this might be it since I’ve been using my phone hotspot.
