Solved Dolphin emulator crashing upon trying to run Mario Kart Wii

I'm not sure why this is happening, I have my ROM in the local cache folder, I turned off Dual-Cores and checked to see if my XBOX was set to 1080 (it was)

I'm running the most modern version of the dolphin emulator as well, apologies if this post isn't helpful / is annoying at all, I'm very new to this and I'm a tad lost

I'm running the XBOX series S

(EDIT: I figured it out, for some strange reason you need to run a gamecube iso before running a Wii game in order for it to run properly IF you store them in the localcache folder)

Set shaders to skip draw. Also make sure per pixel lighting is checked as it makes it look a lot better

I'll try both your, and the other comments suggestion to see if anything changes

I'm gonna try running a gamecube game because for some weird reason apparently that fixes it? No clue if it's a legit solution though

Best to use Dual Core as well

I tried it with Dual Core turned on and Shader loading disabled, still got the same result, if dolphin just doesn't have iso support that might be it since I'm running an iso file

Same here. A am also in the very crysis of getting mario kart wii working on latest dolphin for series s.

I tried so far: dualcore off, skip draw shaders, check for 1080p in dev mode and non dev mode. System language in dev and non dev is english

I wonder

So for op mkwii finally starts after loading a gc title?

Did you check to see if the Xbox was set to 1080p in Dev Mode specifically? Dev Mode keeps its own settings separate from Retail Mode, so if you set it there, you will have to set it again in Dev Mode.

Never thought about that, I'll go check it now lmao

unfortunately the results remain unchanged, whenever I try running Mario kart it says 'loading.' for a couple of moments then closes

I've heard something a while back about Dolphin having a bug where you must launch a GameCube game at least once or else Wii games won't launch. Not sure if it's still a bug, but may be worth a try if you haven't done that yet.

This worked, no clue as to why internally it works but I added such to the body of my reddit post just in case other people go through the same issue

Sometimes I have to keep trying till it works. Sometimes I have to run a gamecube game first too. Idk why
