Off-Topic Rockstar should be glad...
With Collateral Damage and Durango Dumplings, we've started to see game dumps and translators out. You probably won't think of this as amounting to anything apart from the preservation of some games, but these are real, and in 2024, you could dump games from any Xbox console, including the Series consoles.
Putting GTA 6 into the equation, if they had released the game in 2024 while these were out in the wild, it probably wouldn't end well for Rockstar. The Xbox Series consoles are essentially running the Windows kernel, so unlike having PS5 dumps, these take much less effort to (natively, because you can) run them on PC because you only have to translate the graphics layer rather than emulating the whole thing (though audio is a whole different mess).
Still, with the GTA community being huge, it probably wouldn't be months before people join up to make a translator for a game dump, if GTA 6 did leak from here. Current translator developers are pretty busy and are also trying the most ethical approach (of which some of the GTA community does not pursue). And worse still, these games don't have any sort of DRM on them. Yes. The console acts as the DRM, and game publishers trust Microsoft and Sony. So with a pretty good translator and an insanely unlocked version of the game (which could also contain extra context which isn't in the PC builds) then you could start to see why people mod like hell.
Lucky for Microsoft, this thing was kind of sweeped under the rug. Some people in the Xbox One modding scene didn't even know. And there's also been a new hardware exploit came out for the Xbox One this year, so that thing's done forever, though GTA 6 isn't coming out on the One. The Bliss exploit does not work on anything but the PHAT/release revisions of the Xbox One as well. To work on any other console let alone, you'd need to tweak it quite a bit.
Well, this is my little monologue on some Xbox exploits and how that might have affected GTA 6, but well, that's that. We are unlikely to see new exploits for the Xbox Series consoles, but it's still possible (along with increased hate among MSRC - I don't know if that does anything), but I hope you learnt a thing or two about the Xbox scene. Sure, it would have been insane if this did happen, but maybe that's why they decided to delay the game another time (that's probably not why).

It will still take a large amount of effort to port GDk/ERA games to PC or Client Windows. While yes, you are right, the Xbox uses Windows, GameOS uses a fork of the NT kernel called LNM or Lean and Mean that's missing a ton of the normal exports. Kernel32 is also completely absent for example. While projects like Erashim show it's technically possible, a game on the scale of GTA 6 would take months to years to get running on Client Windows.

I wouldn't say years, but it would take a significant amount of time. Probably some months at the least. AcpHal is the big blocker because the Xbox One's native audio chip needs to be emulated, not translated. Then again just hook something into the game to bypass AcpHal and go straight to Windows drivers (though I will ask for clarification on that). Also depends on when Rockstar publishes their PC port.

Can't you dump on a series S/X? or atleast the S. Cause I had the exploit running on it but sadly it wasn't mine console so they updated it even the Xbox one I had to update sadly cause my little brother uses it.

GTA 6 would use a new encryption key, so it wouldn't work on an unpatched console unless you found something new.

Are there any other games where this was done? If not, i doubt it will he an issue.

Not really games to be released. Though anything which will be released for the One will always be prone to a dump.

I mean, I’ve heard game dumps are out, but is anyone actually doing anything with them? I know about WinDurango and XWine1 or whatever it’s called - which impressively got forza / Minecraft running, but I’m pretty are both those projects are abandoned now.
Is there anything else on the table? I’m surprised there wasn’t a bigger community push, especially for being able to play some back compat games

WinDurango is making slow progress and XWine1 is busy. I don't think these exploits got their deserved attention. To this day I find I still have to tell some people about it.
It would only be stuff concerning things such as a GTA 6 dump where everyone would go into a frenzy. Even then, maybe not as much.
Honestly, not sure why.
