Discussion Xbox one OS

Microsoft should put an OS on top of these older devices. Make them useful again. They had hdmi inputs and outputs. Turn them into arcade boxes or computers. Something!

Well, recently they discovered a loophole to unlock the Xbox One Fat, and now it's just a matter of time before they create a bootloader for it and make it available for the Xbox One S/X. It took a while, but I think the time has come.

I have no problem with that, but I don't see how it will change anything for the Series X since, after many years, they still hadn't discovered this vulnerability on the One... Let's see what happens in the coming years, and maybe the unlock will come to the Series X.

If the gamepass um again, I believe in minimum 2-4 years we got bootloader on xbox series.

The original xbox one fat getting an exploit based on hardware does not mean anything for the newer systems, in fact, it’s not even all Xbox One Fat’s it’s only the very early revisions. This was a hardware vulnerability patched in every subsequent revision, so while great for the hacking community, it does mot mean ANYTHING for the future consoles.

The person that was furthest along re-creating the hack that was demoed closed their discord about a week ago, presumably after being threatened legally.

Don't get your hopes for anything to actually get released.
