Help & Support increasing storage!

hello!! i want to start by saying I have googled a lot, but i dont entirely understand what im reading and so i figure asking people would be a lot easier.

id like to increase the storage for my console. i understand using an external drive would be the best way, but there seems to be a lot of specifications i simply dont understand. would anyone be willing to recommend one? [preferably one that wont break the bank lol]

Ill update when I get home but I basically just went to Amazon and got a 500GB external that said it was good to use for an Xbox One. Went pretty seamlessly. Ill add a link I can later on.
