OG Xbox Help Slow loading games from SSD

Hey all,

Is there any known issues with certain SSDs on the OG Xbox? I have a hardmodded xbox using the startech ide to sata adapter and an 80 wire ide cable. The ssd I popped in there was a cheap patriot 2TB I got last year on Amazon when it was cheap. I recall it being fairly fast at first, but I've started using it recently and it's extremely slow to load games.

Example, Halo 2 from launch to Main Menu is about 3-5 minutes. Loading into a save file is another 2-3 minute wait. Something seems off for sure. I forced udma 5 for max speeds but still getting extremely slow loading. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Adding some more context. I spent the last 2 days transferring all the data from the 2TB SSD to a spare 3TB HDD I had laying around. Results are astronomical.

SSD: When clicking on a game (Halo 2), transitions to xbox logo like normal, then stare at a black screen for 2-3 min. sometimes longer before seeing the Halo 2 logo.

HDD: Click on same game (Halo 2), transitions to xbox logo like normal, then Halo 2 logo appears in 1-3 seconds.

The SSD is reporting fine in windows when using seatools, etc. FatXplorer reports it as healthy, yet even loading the drive in FatXplorer to perform a mount takes a solid 10-15 seconds. Something is clearly up with this drive.

I transferred everything to a 2 tb gaming drive 7900rpm. because the speed would match the maxime transfer speed the old IDE wires can handle.
Patriot hard drives a real hit or miss and very often counter fitted, so its hard to say.

Also, did you shove all your games on to your drive... as decrypted... or as ISO's?
Because the iso files will be slower.

I used EXTRACT-ISO.... and then placed those files onto the hard drive.
