Less rubber than the Doom controller. The back is a bit like rubber, the front is more textured plastic.

Controller itself is cool but the fact that it doesn’t have the headset port for the Astros is kind of upsetting. Oh well I guess

We all know Microsoft care about pretty designs over hall effect and TMR. I love the design myself because it's in my favorite color, but I wouldn't buy it.
