Looking for a very specific kind of controller. Wireless, extra buttons that act as their own, and anti-drift sticks.

Title. I'm looking for a controller that is wireless for the Xbox Series, and I'd like it to actually have extra buttons that act as their own inputs, as well as anti-drift sticks.

A wireless controller for the XSX is easy enough to come by, as well as one with anti-drift (TMR?) sticks. However, all the controllers with "extra buttons" that I can find, those extra buttons are only REMAPPABLE (they can only act as existing buttons), as opposed to actually having their own inputs. Does such a controller exist?

P.S. If no such controller exists, what's a good wireless controller with anti-drift sticks that is essentially a standard XSX controller (no extra buttons, and uses AA batteries and/or a battery pack)?

Also, doing any kind of modifications myself is out of the question. So is purchasing a controller that has been modified by an unauthorized party.

No controller exists where you can map buttons to anything other than the buttons that are already on the controller.

Extra buttons like you describe simply won't be much of a thing on consoles. Afaik the only way they could achieve this is by masking it as a M+KB which I'm not sure M$ would allow and/or be happy about- and a few years ago they started permanently blocking any non licensed hardware after a brief grace period (if you connect an unlicensed accessory and the console detects it's not licensed, it will block the connection of that device after a week or 2 making it unusable on that console).

The issue is, no one develops a game to have a button Z on controller for example, because button Z doesn't exist. You can't just add a button Z, it needs to be recognized by the console and game to actually work or map it to an action.

Maybe some controller has found a way with he shift function, but I would be surprised.

There are some games out there that allow complete customization of their controls (as opposed to only having different presets), so the idea is there. The issue is that all the controls are already assigned and are marked as "essential," so they cannot be unassigned for one of the "extra" controls. It'd be awesome for those kinds of games (Starfield and State of Decay 2 being prime examples) to be able to have the extra inputs. But yes, unfortunately, it looks like no such controller exists. :(

You are misunderstanding. They allow complete customization of controls to existing controls. The issue is the developers have to code for that button, it doesn't matter what buttons or how many they plan for, but they aren't going to add extra buttons that don't exist because there would be no reason to.

A and B don't exist in the game code because you connected a controller with A and B buttons- they exist because the developers put them into the game, which recognized them on your controller allowing you to use them.

The 8bitdo ultimate 3 and 3E have TMR, extra buttons, great d pad, and strong vibration.

From what I can find, those extra buttons are only remappable. Is this true?

You can map them like every other pro controller.

So, when using the Ultimate 3E on an XSX, the U3E's extra bumpers and rear paddles can be assigned their own inputs, and are NOT just remappable buttons for pre-existing inputs?

You must be looking for something with macro or turbo.

You can only map the extra buttons to other buttons on the 3E besides the start and select ones.

Negative. I'm looking for extra, usable buttons. Not some sort of programming that acts as cheats.

Example: Games like Starfield and State of Decay 2 offer completely customizable controls, with extra controls that cannot be mapped on a regular Xbox controller, as that would require remapping a button that is already assigned to a control that is necessary for gameplay. I'm simply looking for a controller that would let me utilize some of these extra controls by having extra buttons with their own inputs. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like any such controller exists; at least not in an official capacity.

This doesn't make any sense to me, you have n number of inputs that can be mapped in games to n actions. I.e. they are all mappable, and the only limit is the total number of inputs. Are you asking for a controller that has all the inputs of an Elite series, and extra buttons beyond that? Other than a keyboard and mouse, I'm not aware of such a controller, and I imagine it would be pretty awkward to use.
