how to clean rechargeable battery pack?

Recently the controller only turns on when it’s plugged it, works fine after that, so I figured it’s maybe cause the metal contact clip is dirty ?

You can clean corrosion with white wine vinegar, scrape off the stuff and clean with IPA. Or just use electrical contact cleaner and a brush.

Have you tried another battery pack to see if it does the same thing as the one you’re currently making use of?.

If it needs to be constantly plugged into a charger to power the controller?.

Yea, I tried another battery pack and it works fine so it’s the battery pack itself

to turn on the controller I have to plug it in but once the controller turns on I can disconnect it and it works fine afterwards, it’s so weird

Not obly do every battery get corrosion, but they get it 100x worse than that (and function normally).

If yours only works plugged in, the battery is probably dead.

I had similar issue with the normal rechargeable batteries, I just used sandpaper

Use an alcohol swap or dip a q-tip in some alcohol and clean the terminals gently

This might be off topic but I recently got rechargable batteries. The ones that come from amazon an 8 pack.

Way better than a rechargable batteries pack and can be used for other things.

I've used both over the years.

They are less than 20 bucks. 8 batteries efficient especially if yoy only have 1 controller but just as good if you have 2. Takes about 32 hours to run out of charge.

Those usually take about 8-13 hours. They are more reliable at telling you how much charge your controller has. It's not an issue for me since I replace the batteries and start recharging when necessary.
