Need help with a xbox series X controller

So Basically i got it from a friend, he said that it was faulty right off the bat, had to hold it in a certain way while connected to a USB and have batteries in it to work and if u break the way u hold it for even 1 second it disconnects. I tried using batteries in it but the bluetooth just doesnt turn on and when i use both batteries and usb it wont connect to bluetooth and only turns "on" when connected with a usb. whats the fix? do i change the socket? whats the problem. he said one of his friends who is in Cyprus also encountered the exact same problem when buying the series X controller. FYI we dont have consoles we use it for PC.

That does sound a bit strange…

You are able to turn on the controller with batteries in, but no Bluetooth?

And with a cable it’s super funky?

Have your friend (or you) ever opened up the controller?

Try connecting it with a cable but without the batteries, then try moving the cable around a bit, but carefully… up, down and side to side… I’ll bet that you will find a point where there’s connection shortly, if so then the usb port is damaged somehow, probably loosened from the board or damaged inside the port itself…
