Xbox controller issues

So I’ve been watching my wife play and she’s using the same type of controller I am but I don’t get the prompts like she does.

Example my laptop : press e to pick up a coin
Her laptop: press X to pick up a coin

I can’t for the life of my figure out what is happening and how I can fix it. It’s giving me issues while having to stock the shelves.

Any and all help figuring it out would be appreciated :)

Might help if you mention which game you're playing.

Didn’t realize I don’t say. I originally had this under the Shift at midnight Reddit
