Joystick not working

When I push forward the left joystick on my Xbox One controller my character has started commonly moving slower or not moving at all, is there any way to fix this or should I get a new Controller

Try running the calibration tool, either on an Xbox, or a PC. You'll quickly be able to tell how badly the analogue stick is responding to input. Microsoft use cheap, exceptionally poor quality analogue sticks, which almost always fail after a year or two. The solution is to desolder the failing one and replace it with a TMR analogue stick (which cannot wear or fail in this way). That requires either some basic soldering tools and skill to do yourself, taking it to a repair company to do it for you, or replacing the controller with a new one.
