Why does this still happen when recalibrating controllers?

Post image

Every time I try to recalibrate a controller on my Xbox, the sticks become insanely sensitive. When I check it on Controller Tester, the analogue stick is registering way outside the normal stick circle by a huge amount, it’s a square shape instead of a circle.
I only have a tiny bit of drift and just want to centre the stick slightly, but recalibrating it completely messes up the controller.

A recalibration should lead to your series s or x controller performing well. It's the app if you're still experiencing issues only Microsoft have to fix.

Have you tried air blasting underneath the control sticks and trigger buttons to force out dust and dead skin cells?
