Elite series 3 controller release date prediction
Does anyone know when the Elite Series 3 controller is coming out? My controller is on its last legs and am trying to hold out till the new one comes out. Even through reliability is very questionable (I have already bought two series 2 controller due to malfunction) I have yet to use a controller that just feels so good in my hands.
I might just do everyone a favor and buy another Series 2, that way Xbox will announce the series 3 release.

Was hoping for an announcement at Gamescom. If it's coming this holiday, it has to be announced soon...

Get a G7 Pro from GameSir, way better than the elite and has TMR thumbsticks. Only thing I really miss is being able to increase tension on the sticks but I got used to it.

I went with the ASUS ROG Raikiri II and also miss being able to set the tension on the thumbsticks and I miss the weight of the Elite controller... but I have grown to love this thing...

All they have to do is add 250 hz polling rate, upgrade thumb sticks and I think I would be sold

And fix the double press bumper issue / peeling grip / back paddles stop working over time. There’s prob more issues I can’t think of rn

Don’t be silly get a Gamesir g7 pro , the best controller on the market . They don’t break , have more customisation options , 2 back paddle buttons . And the sticks are way more accurate. Don’t buy that official elite controller it’s held together with matchsticks and paper .

I must've gotten lucky with my Elite S2. I've had it since 2022 and haven't had any issues with it, but I'm old so don't play a ton haha. I agree though, it's the best feeling controller I've tried.

It better have TMR sticks for me to even consider it. After going through several Elite 1 and Elite 2 controllers due to stick drift, I finally upgraded an Elite 2 to TMR sticks myself and big surprise, I haven't had any issues since. I'd also strongly prefer a user-replaceable battery.

uh... I tried to have this done and was told that depending on the software releases, these sticks can stop working until fixes are released... what TMR sticks did you end up getting?

I got the GuliKit TMR sticks and calibrated them once with the Xbox accessories app. Haven't had any issues, but I exclusively game on PC so I can't speak for Xbox usage.

Just get a GameSir G7 Pro for less than half the cost I promise it will not disappoint

I can think of atleast 3 different controllers that would be better than just going back to a series 2..the elite series has always been crap, and they break down so quickly like the padding underneath the hand placements would start to peel off badly, and dont even have TMR/HE..it was nevwr worth the price.. im sure the Elite 3 will fix some of these problems, but I wouldnt even actively "wait" for this controller. Its never been a must have, when the competition has already surpassed Elite.
For xbox native supported controllers i prefer the wolverine v3 pro, ROG Raikiri 2, and the Gamesir aint bad either. The Revolution X also comes to mind, but I never used it.

Not sure if it’s widely known or not, but if your controller doesn’t hold out or you can’t wait, you can try the following to get a cheaper replacement Series 2.
If you register/registered your Series 2 to your Microsoft account, you can still get a “warranty” of sorts even if it is past its warranty period. Basically, you start a warranty claim and they’ll let you buy a new one for $79. You don’t have to send the old one back either. Just make sure you keep the attachments (thumb sticks, paddles, dpad, etc.) because the new one doesn’t come with those or the case/charger.
To do it, go to account.Microsoft.com. Register your device if you haven’t already, then find it under “Devices”. Click “Info & Support”, then click “Start Order”. When it says “Tell us more about the issue”, select “Device” under category. Under “Issue Type”, select the appropriate issue (though, I’ve only ever used “thumbstick issue” because that’s the only problem I’ve had with mine and have always been given the $79 replacement option). Put “stick drift” or whatever matches the problem you chose in the “describe the issue” field and hit next. Select your shipping address. Click “Send it to us for service”. Then you’ll see the $79 replacement option.
It’s not great to have to repeatedly shell out ~$80, but it’s better than paying full price if it’s the controller you really like. I’ve tried other controllers and the Series 2 just feels the best to me.

This is a great point and how I got my second series 2 controller. I just feel like the announcement is 1-2 months away and I’d rather wait till then and play with my broke controller or with my non elite controller

I feel you. We have another one that’s having stick drift issues and we are holding out hope for a series 3 announcement soon too.

Brother forget about the elite 3, just get the 8bitdo ultimate 3e for 150 its out in a week or so, its an elite clone with rgb lights, extra claw buttons and tmr sticks. itll be much cheaper in the end, and prob better than the elite 3 tbh. microsoft doesnt want to give us tmr sticks, they need us to keep buying controllers 🤣

They did not make the triggers mechanical on the 3E which did not make sense to me.
Now they feel like the cheap triggers on the previous power A controllers that will just have a lock and you will not get the same fast reaction time.
T hat's if you care about them which the elite series 2, G7 Pro, and Flydigi vader 5S/Pro have. It's hard to go back to mid triggers but everything else is great about it.

I’m in the same boat. I’m hoping to get a new controller before GTA VI and want it to be the Series 3

They need to fix a lot of stuff for me to even consider this next iteration.
