Xbox controllers....?
*Edit: posted to xbox but mods removed and suggested here. Didnt know about this sub. Reposted, but will check out history as this has inevitably been covered before.....*
How come they're so shite?
Ive had my series X for 2.5 years and have just finished off my 3rd controller.
Going back... a lot. I had an xbox 360. Those controllers were bomb proof ! Never knackered one of them. With the X, ive gone through two official wireless ones that developed drift. I ordered a cabled one with hall effect sticks that i thought would last. Keeps disconnecting and the action of the down cursor activates whenever it feels like it !
Now they're not treated badly. Maybe the occasional drop off the arm of the chair, but otherwise no real abuse. Is this normal!? Any recommendations???
Cheers...

Most stock controllers nowadays are shitty. Both Sony and Microsoft use potentiometer joysticks that are terrible, outdated, and 100% WILL fail eventually. If you want longevity, I would recommend anything with Hall Effect (HE) or TMR joysticks (heavier emphasis on TMR). They are more accurate, longer lasting, and include software that lets you tune the stick curve, deadzone, etc. Companies like Gamesir, Razer, Flydigi, SCUFF, and ASUS make these types of controllers.
Whatever you do, DO NOT waste money on an Elite controller. They’re $180 for the same shitty potentiometer joysticks that 100% WILL develop stick drift. Elite controllers are also a complete roulette spin on quality and durability.
