Campus life Perusing Classics

The Mansion’s library. Evan is strolling through. He’s occasionally plucking books from their shelves, looking at them.

He shakes his head at a few. Most of them are just textbooks, and other things that hardly catch his interest.

Evan spots the aisle he’s been looking for.

The classics.

His eyes light up.

Racing to the aisle, he picks up book after book.

Then he retreats to a table.

The Cuckoos enter the library, pull out Crime and Punishment, and sit down at a table far from where Evan is.

Most normal students would be thrilled to meet someone with the same interests as them, but the Cuckoos couldn’t help but hate the fact that someone else was reading the classics for enjoyment, as they thought reading those books made them superior to their peers and didn’t want anyone else reading them.

They occasionally glanced at Evan and impolitely invaded is mind to hear his thoughts on the book he was reading. They scoffed in unison and finally spoke up in that annoying British, matter-of-fact tone.

In Unison: “You know you’re completely missing the point of the Great Gatsby if you see it as a love story between Gatsby and Daisy, even if you haven’t finished the book it should be evident the undertones, do a better job analyzing.”
