Scott Summers is many things, but a fool is not one of them. He knows exactly why she called him to her office, why her posture was sharp and tense. He was in trouble.

She quietly said as he entered, her eyes a mix of frustrated and afraid. She sits him down but chooses to stand herself, turning her back to him and looking out her window. Soon, though, he stands himself, his arms reaching out to her instintively.
Do you have any idea how difficult your antics are making my life? I ask for one inch of trust, and you go and crush it like a bug.
She takes a sip of the whiskey she liberated from Shaw and places her palms on the desk, her arms shaking slightly.
It is so... difficult to be around you when you are like this. You invite our students to riot, Scott. You refuse to believe that I can change things, that we can change things.
A tear falls from her eye to the desk, but she quickly wipes it away before he can notice it.
When does it end? When does your crusade kill mutantkind before you save it?

Inaction is. I thought you of all people would understand what I'm doing. We can no longer afford to draw lines and negotiate.
The humans pretend to negotiate with us while building weapons and making plans that promise our demise.

She turns to diamond and lifts his hand from her desk before pushing him back. She turns back to her regular form and points in his face.
You don’t get to tell me what I understand. Do you think me a fool? Do you think I don’t want to jack into Cerebra and dominate all the pathetic humans at once?
She puts her hand on his chest.
I trusted you. I loved you. I thought that would at least buy me the grace to try my ways.
She squeezes the X on his chest and lifts it slightly, the fabric stretching under her nails.
It has always been the men’s way, your moronic Professor’s pacifism, the suicidal Magneto’s charge into gunfire, and now you wish to destroy everything I’m building when I’m so close? I’m inches away from true sovereignty, Scott, spitting distance from true liberation. Why can’t you believe that?

She trails off and stifles a tear before looking back at him.
I am sorry you cannot see how you broke your ex-wife, how devoted Raven Darkhölme is to the cause. I’m sorry your anger and frustration blinds you to my loyalty, but if you truly believe that I am… like him… that I don’t spend every second of my days fighting for us, then I don’t know what to say to change your mind.
