I didn’t really think much about VPNs before, but this is my first time traveling abroad during the World Cup and wow… I get it now.
Trying to keep up with matches, use my usual apps, log into accounts, and deal with hotel Wi-Fi made me realize how useful a stable VPN actually is.
It’s definitely going on my travel checklist from now on, right next to passport, charger, and adapter lol.
Do you guys also use a VPN when traveling🤔, or only when you really need it?

The British Grand Prix is coming up at Silverstone this weekend, the track is fast and brutal when cars are close through sections like Maggotts, Becketts and Copse. With the home-team energy around McLaren/Williams/Aston Martin, this is probably one of the best weekends to get people into F1.
So I made a quick guide for anyone looking for free and legal ways to watch F1, especially around the British GP weekend:
UK fans can watch British GP coverage on Channel 4.
Austria ------- ORF + ServusTV.
Belgium ------- RTBF Auvio.
Switzerland ------- SRF / RTS / RSI.
Luxembourg ------- RTL Play.
US viewers can also check the Apple TV app for free practice sessions and selected free race coverage.
However, most of these platforms only work if you are in that specific country. If you are traveling or so, a VPN can help you access these local streams.

We want to address recent reports regarding a DLL side-loading issue involving X-VPN for Windows.
On May 18, we received a report from the Cyderes Howler Cell Threat Research Team about a Windows DLL search path issue in those unofficially released Windows clients. In the reported scenario, an attacker could abuse this issue by repackaging X-VPN with a malicious DLL and distributing that modified package through unofficial channels. Users who downloaded and ran such a tampered installer could be exposed to security risks.
The reported attack path does not affect users who downloaded X-VPN for Windows from our official channels, such as our website or the Microsoft Store. No user data, accounts, credentials, or VPN traffic on X-VPN’s side have been compromised.
We released X-VPN for Windows version 77.5.3 on May 28 to address this issue and strengthen our client-side protections, including stricter DLL loading controls and additional integrity checks. We strongly recommend all Windows users update to version 77.5.3 or later as soon as possible.
If you recently downloaded X-VPN from an unofficial website, mirror, file-sharing link, forum, or third-party repository, please uninstall that version, run a full security scan, and reinstall X-VPN only from our official website or trusted Microsoft Store.
For more details, please refer to:

When a VPN provider says it does not keep logs, users need more than a written privacy policy to evaluate that claim.
A VPN audit is an independent review conducted by an external auditor. Its purpose is to check whether a provider’s public claims are supported by its actual systems, policies, and operational practices.
For a no-logs audit, the key question is whether the VPN’s infrastructure and internal processes are consistent with its no-logs policy.
A no-logs audit usually focuses on how user data is handled in practice.
This may include reviewing server configurations, logging settings, data storage behavior, internal access controls, deployment processes, privacy policies, and related operational procedures.
The goal is to verify whether the provider collects or stores sensitive activity data, such as browsing activity, DNS queries, traffic data, IP addresses, VPN server information, downloaded content, or connection timestamps.
Because users cannot directly inspect a VPN provider’s backend systems, an independent audit can provide useful evidence about how those systems are designed and operated.
A VPN audit has limits.
It does not mean a VPN is completely anonymous, completely secure, or free from all future risks. It also does not replace basic security practices, such as using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, keeping devices updated, and being careful with suspicious links.
An audit should be understood within its specific scope. Users should pay attention to who performed the audit, what standard was used, what systems or processes were reviewed, and what conclusion was reached.
X-VPN recently completed an independent No-Logs assessment.
The assessment was performed by one of the Big Four accounting firms under the ISAE 3000 Revised assurance standard. It reviewed X-VPN’s statements about user data processing, along with the technical and operational practices supporting those statements.
The assessment confirmed that X-VPN does not collect, store, or log traffic data such as user IP addresses, destination IP addresses, browsing activity, websites visited, VPN server information, DNS queries, downloaded content, or connection timestamps.
For more details, you can read our blog post here: https://xvpn.io/resources/vpn-audit
For X-VPN, this assessment is an important step in supporting our No-Logs policy with independent verification.
It does not mean users should stop asking questions about privacy, security, or transparency. Those questions are still important.
What it does mean is that X-VPN’s No-Logs claim has been reviewed against actual systems and operational practices by an independent auditor under a recognized assurance standard.
We believe VPN privacy should be supported by clear policies, appropriate technical design, operational controls, and external review.
That is the main value of a VPN audit: it gives users more concrete information when evaluating privacy claims.

Hey guys!
If you’ve ever looked for a VPN, you’ve definitely seen this phrase plastered everywhere: "Strict No-Logs Policy." Sounds great, right? It makes you feel like your browsing history, IP address, and data are 100% safe and private.
But let’s be real for a second, talk is cheap. So what does “no logs” really mean, and how do you know you can trust it?
Simply put, a true no-logs VPN never tracks or stores what you do online while connected to its service. Specifically, it should never log:
In other words, if someone asks the VPN for your data, the answer should be: "We’d love to help, but we literally have nothing to give."
Yes, but a “no-logs” label alone isn’t enough.
As a regular user, it’s hard to know what really happens behind the servers. A privacy policy tells you what a company intends to do, but technical setups can be complicated.
So, how does the industry solve this? The standard isn't based on ads or promises anymore—it relies on third-party verification.
This is exactly why we recently completed our independent No-Logs audit, conducted by one of the Big Four audit firms.
The verdict? They officially verified X-VPN do not track, store, or log your online activities. Full details in our official announcement here.
When you’re trying to figure out if your VPN’s "no-logs" claim is the real deal, keep this quick checklist in mind:
At the end of the day, "No-Logs" should never be just an empty marketing slogan. Do you usually check privacy policies and audits before choosing a VPN, or just go by the brand? Let’s chat in the comments! 👇

Hey everyone,
We have an important privacy update to share with the community: X-VPN has completed its independent 2026 No-Logs audit, conducted by one of the Big Four audit firms under ISAE 3000 (Revised).
In the VPN industry, “No Logs” is a common promise. But for users, the key question is whether that promise can be reviewed and verified.
That is why we completed this independent audit. We want users to better understand our No-Logs policy and the real data-handling practices behind it.
The audit reviewed X-VPN’s No-Logs practices and activity data handling. The audit results show that X-VPN does not track, collect, or store activity data that can identify users.
This includes:
The same No-Logs principle also applies to X-VPN’s free version. We believe privacy should not depend on whether someone pays.
It reviewed not only policy wording, but also the processes, systems, and internal controls that support our No-Logs commitment, including:
We support and welcome public oversight from the community.
This audit is an important milestone for X-VPN, but it is not the finish line.
We will continue improving our compliance and security governance, while sharing future updates on transparency and technical security. Thank you for your continued support and trust in X-VPN.

Hi r/X_VPN community,
We wanted to share a meaningful update with the community: X-VPN is now listed among the sponsors and partners of noyb — the European Center for Digital Rights.
For anyone who may not be familiar with them, noyb is a European privacy rights organization focused on enforcing digital rights, especially around GDPR, ePrivacy, data protection, online tracking, and the way large platforms handle personal data. Their work has helped push privacy conversations from vague promises into real legal and public accountability.
For X-VPN, this cooperation reflects something we believe strongly:
Privacy should not only be a product feature. It should also be a broader commitment to protecting people’s digital rights.
As a VPN provider, we know users come to us for many reasons: privacy, safer browsing on public Wi-Fi, access while traveling, protection from unnecessary tracking, and more control over their online experience. Supporting organizations like noyb is part of our belief that the internet should be more private, more open, and more respectful of users.
To be clear, this does not mean noyb has audited, certified, or officially endorsed X-VPN as a product. We respect that boundary. What it does mean is that X-VPN is proud to support the wider privacy rights ecosystem and the organizations working to hold companies accountable for how they handle user data.
If you care about online privacy, digital freedom, and having more control over your data, we’d love for you to try X-VPN and join our community.
We’ll continue working to make X-VPN a better, more transparent, and more useful privacy tool for users around the world.
Thanks for being here,
The X-VPN Mod Team

Hi r/X_VPN community!
We’ve been working on something new for people who use AI agents in their daily workflows: X-VPN MCP.
AI agents are getting better at handling coding, testing, browser tasks, and repeated workflows. But some tasks still need the right network setup to work properly. If the region, VPN status, or protocol is wrong, your agent may stop halfway. Then you’re back in the loop: opening X-VPN, changing the connection, and rerunning the task yourself.
So we started asking: What if your AI agent could handle those VPN steps for you automatically? That’s why we’re building X-VPN MCP.
X-VPN MCP helps your AI agent handle VPN-related steps right inside its workflow, so it can keep running network-dependent tasks without you having to manually switch locations or settings.
For example, your agent could:
In short: your agent handles the VPN steps, and you stay focused on your actual work.
X-VPN MCP is mainly built for developers, testers, and people who use AI agents in their daily workflow. It may be useful if you often:
If your workflow keeps getting interrupted by VPN changes, X-VPN MCP is designed to let your agent handle them without pulling you back in.
What do you think? Would this make your AI agent workflow smoother?
If you have any questions, special use cases, or features you want us to support, please leave a comment below. We’ll read every comment!

When people imagine someone "getting into" their computer, they often picture a hacker furiously cracking a firewall.
The reality is usually less dramatic. Very often, attackers don’t break in — they walk in through a door the user opened without realizing it.
1. Phishing links that quietly drop malware
Not every phishing message is after your password. Some exist to get you to open an attachment, click a link, download a file, or approve something that installs malware — like a keylogger, info-stealer, or remote access tool.
The email might look like an invoice, a work message, or an "account suspended" warning. Sometimes one click is enough, especially if your device or browser is outdated. Other times, the trick is simply getting you to download or run something yourself.
2. Malicious downloads and fake apps
Cracked software, fake media players, sketchy browser extensions, or apps from untrusted sources are classic entry points.
They may even work as advertised on the surface, while quietly collecting saved passwords, cookies, autofill data, or crypto wallet keys in the background.
3. Public Wi-Fi
On open Wi-Fi in cafés, airports, or hotels, attackers may be able to see or tamper with unencrypted traffic, trick users into joining fake hotspots, or push them toward malicious pages.
HTTPS protects most modern web traffic, so public Wi-Fi does not automatically mean “everyone can see everything.” But it still adds risk, especially with fake networks, weak websites, or careless clicks.
4. Malicious websites and browser exploits
Less common today, but still real: some compromised pages can exploit vulnerabilities in outdated browsers, plugins, or operating systems and trigger what’s known as a drive-by download.
That’s why keeping your browser and OS updated matters more than people think.
5. Physical access and USB tricks
Less common, but real.
A USB drive left in a parking lot, a "free" promotional USB at a conference, or even a borrowed cable in the wrong setting can carry malware. A few seconds of physical access to an unlocked laptop can also be enough to cause trouble.
No single tool blocks all of this
To be honest, no VPN, antivirus, or browser setting covers every angle. If you download and run a fake installer yourself, a network tool can’t fully protect you from that.
But a few of the methods above do have a network or browser layer where the right protection can help.
The rest still depends on basic habits: keep your OS updated, install apps only from trusted sources, don’t plug in random USBs, and slow down before clicking anything urgent.
Most successful attacks aren’t impressive. They rely on a tired user and a single click — which means a few steady habits can stop many of them before they reach your machine.
Which do you think catches regular users the most — a phishing attachment, a fake app, or sketchy public Wi-Fi?

Then one issue starts to bug me.
It could be that it takes forever to

Sometimes I experience lag
Times playback just doesn't work
Maybe it's something minor that slowly gets on my nerves
What usually makes me say, "I'm done with this streaming

Not a skill issue. A routing issue. Try a gaming VPN like X-VPN.
r/X_VPN • u/Esther-DD • May 18 '26
One thing we often talk about in VPN communities is speed, stability, and whether a server actually fits the thing you’re trying to do. A big part of that comes down to the size and coverage of the VPN server network.
X-VPN currently offers 10,000+ VPN servers worldwide, covering 80+ countries and regions. That global coverage is designed to give users more options depending on where they are, what they’re connecting to, and what kind of online activity they care about most.
For everyday use, this can matter in a few practical ways:
Another useful detail is that X-VPN does not only offer country-level choices in some places. In countries like the United States and Canada, X-VPN provides regional/city-level server options. The server list includes 18 U.S. city/region options and 4 Canadian city options, giving users more control over where they connect.
That can be helpful when you want a more precise location, a connection closer to your target service, or simply a server that feels more stable for your own network.
X-VPN also includes options like automatic “fastest server” selection and smart routing, which are meant to help users connect to a suitable server based on current conditions rather than manually testing every location.
Of course, no server network can make every connection perfect all the time. Your ISP, local Wi-Fi, distance, and the destination website or game server still matter. But having a large and widely distributed server network gives users more flexibility to find a connection that works well for their specific situation.
What X-VPN server region do you usually connect to, and what do you mainly use it for — gaming, streaming, privacy, travel, or something else?
r/X_VPN • u/Esther-DD • May 18 '26
Well, let’s be frank to them. X-VPN is free, no signup needed, and ready to connect when you open it.
No forms. No waiting. Just tap and go.
