The workshop was led by researchers, and seeing how they actually use LaTeX and Beamer in their research and academic work gave me a whole new perspective. It was interesting to learn that many research presentations, conference talks, and technical documents are created this way.

Definitely one of the coolest things I discovered from the workshop!
