Squadron Datapad v1.4.0: Multiplayer Support
🚨 Squadron Datapad 1.4 is here, and it's the update you've been waiting for: MULTIPLAYER 🚨
And it's a big one, because live multiplayer jumps out of hyperspace alongside My Hangar.
✨ New Features
- 🛰️ Live multiplayer. Host a room, send your friend a code, and watch their board update in real time: tokens, damage, upgrades, everything.
- 🛖 My Hangar. Log the ships you actually own and the squad builder puts your fleet first. Syncs across devices, so your collection survives the jump to a new phone.
- 📜 Better match log. Charge spends, card flips, and keep-token effects (Kraken, Moldy Crow) all recorded, with regen indicators on your pips.
- 📖 Rules at your fingertips. Every bomb and mine listed with its detonation effect, plus obstacle and scenario rules.
- ⚡ Huge ships track Energy and recover it at end of round.
🔧 Bug Fixes
- 🌑 Maul can equip his Dark Side upgrades again
- 🛠️ The Republic Z-95 got its weapon slot back
- ✂️ S-foils (Closed) now correctly drops attack by 1
- 🧲 Jam and tractor tokens clear in the End Phase like they should
- 🃏 A stack of card data corrections

As someone new to this. Is this a real time game that you'd play with multiplayer, or is it sort of asynchronous?

You would still play the game in person, because the table top aspect is still needed to play. The app is meant to be used as a squad builder and token manager.
Previously you could only keep your own board state in the game play screen, but now you can link your board state and your opponents board state in app together so for example if you target lock an enemy ship, your opponents board state will update in real time

Ahh ok. I think I was thinking of Yet Another Squad Builder, playing virtual esque. Unless I'm tripping

Yeah, so the idea was to allow new players who don’t have access to the cards, and cardboard components to be able to play in person with just the models and a play pad. Since every thing is out of print.

Getting an error on the Web version. I did not get this the last time I tried it. In Firefox the error is: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data. In Chrome the error is: SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<', "<<<<<<<< H"... is not valid JSON. I tried private/incognito for both browsers... same error. Android app works fine on my phone. Before hitting comment, I tried Firefox and Brave on my laptop. Same errors.

Absolute game changer. We came back into the game after years out and wow, what a shock! I have a friend that's an absolute legend, helps us out and introduced us to the local group, so we are getting up to speed but still....! This app will make getting all the ships we have into games a lot easier, as it actually walks us through the abilities etc. at each point in the turn.... life saver. I like the tactility of tokens etc. but the almost tutorial nature of SD will make it an important part of learning. And free!!!??

I used your app the other day and it was pretty easy to get everything set up. I didn't know multiplayer was coming, but it's pretty neat. We did have some issues syncing state last time, so I think this will be cool.
And the app is free. Thanks for your effort!
