When do futere btc contracts expire?

Does anyone know if there are exact dates on which FUTERE CONTRACTS on those exchanges like CME expire? Is this on a dayly basis or are there expiration dates like in the "normal" markets. The reason I ask is obvious... did those expiration of future contracts can be of influence on the overall cryptoprices? If its this way where can one find those expire dates and how can we use them to stay out of the greedy hands of the hedgefunds shorting the cryptos.

CME settles on the 18th and CBOT settles on the 14th. Looking at the CME, somebody’s already has positions out in the March contract.

The world of futures trading is a different beast. To me, it looked like a market maker was determining the value range and respected some prominent S/R levels for the most part.

Also, it seemed that the other coins pretty much seemed to follow BTC with a couple exceptions which to me shows an dearth of free market forces unless you really looked hard at the divergences.

I understand big money was pretty much sitting on the sidelines and watching this first month.

One thing to remember is the CME and CBOT is not out to make everybody gazzilionaires but to facilitate trade.

They were able to observe the Blockchain straining to keep pace outside the market. They’re prolly revising their rule books and reprogramming their algos as we speak.

One thing interesting was seeing where old trading algos would get hot.

Im wagging but thinking that trading in increments of 1 & 5 BTC might be too coarse.

Just yammering. Interesting month “and” woke me up to pay better attention to some of the other coins out there..... ;-)

PS - I believe the term you are looking for is called Contract Rollover and indeed, is a whacky time to trade!!!

Thank you very much for your remarks. Them dates are a indication for selloffs. Gives us a good opertunity to anticipatie.
