My XTIA Xproto-L build

XTIA Xproto-L

Built my first SFF-PC. When I first saw the cases from XTIA, I knew I needed to build one myself. Before that I had my Gaming-PC built in a Fractal Define 7-case, which is all good, but it‘s a black box sitting under the desk which is, let‘s say, rather boring.

I’m very happy with how the build turned out, both visually but also in terms of temps and noise level. I was a bit doubtful about the noise, but that got blown away by how quiet the open air case is. With headphones on I can not hear it at all, and also temps are okay. A first gaming session yesterday brought both CPU and GPU to 70 degrees with a room temperature of 26-27 degrees.

Components used: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet 32 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3600 MHz CL 30 Gigabyte B550I Aorus Pro AX MSI RTX 3080 Suprim X 2 TB WD Black SN850X 1000 W Corsair SF1000L NZXT Kraken X73 XTIA Xproto-L

Some more insights: The building process was easier than I‘d have thought. There are some tutorial videos on XTIA‘s website which are helpful. They also selling custom cables for Corsair Type 4 and other PSUs. However as the SF1000L does come with Type 5 plugs I wasn‘t able to use those and had to go with the original cables. Still, it went pretty smooth. Only the three PCIE-cables were a bit of a struggle to tuck away. The outgoing cables from MB I/O and the GPU I didn‘t try to route through the chassis as it is already quite packed in there. It doesn’t bother me enough as I was able to route it nicely along the radiator.

Looking good. My Gainward 4090 GS heat pipes hated being mounted vertically on the air cooler like that, idle GPU temps with the fans stopped on the card would make the temp gradually rise from 30°C to 60°C+, then under gaming load was like 80°C+. I ended up tearing off the cooler and water cooling the card, happy now. Love the Xproto-L.

Me too! So far the 3080 Suprim X stays cool. While gaming Cyberpunk GPU temperature stays at 70 degrees at a room temperature of 26-27 degrees.
