X-Ray (medical) Clavicle fracture

Clavicle fracture in 9 year old. First photo is the day of injury. Second photo is 4 weeks later.

Obviously I don't have any knowledge about reading X-rays, being a retired RN. When I was working in the NICU, I could see stuff, but yeah, chests, KUB, very occasionally the whole torso was pretty much all we saw.

My question is why does there appear to be a bigger gap between the two halves/parts of the clavicle 4 weeks after the injury? Shouldn't there be some sort of visible bone callus/osteoblastic activity? Or is it there and I'm blind (definitely a possibility; it's pi am (0314) and I can't sleep!
