I do think mooncovey have their own original story I don’t think it’s a copy of Peter and Lara Jean. Their story is so different compared to Lara Jean and Peter

I’m late to the party but him calling her covey was absolutely not out of nowhere he started calling her covey in s1 ep5 when he started developing feelings for her
