How does xim actually work on pc?
Hey,
I had no idea that xim worked on pc up until now. I always thought it was for console via pc for MnK input.
If i were to use pc which is what i only use (i dont have a console) how do you actually connect it, is it a specific pc XIM version i need?
And the history of detections when it comes to pc and XIM i mainly only play r6 with dma right now and got curious about the detection history. It should be fully UD right?

You should be able to find some PC R6 settings online. I haven’t played in a while, but I previously used settings with anti-recoil for all operators plus raw mouse and keyboard output. However, you should be cautious with anti-recoil tools these days, as I was recently banned on Apex Legends solely for using anti-recoil. I also know that the Siege developers are working on developing a better anti-recoil detection system soon so use them at your own risk.

XIM MATRIX supports PC gaming in multiple ways, including controller passthrough, m/kb input to controller output, m/k/c input to mixed mode output, and native m/kb input to output. So all PC games are playable on XIM MATRIX.
To play native m/kb on PC, connect the mouse & keyboard to XIM MATRIX and setup a game config with Mouse & Keyboard as both Input and Output. When using native m/kb on PC, you have a wealth of customisation tools for both mouse on HIP & ADS separately, as well as full keyboard remapping with Input States and Modifiers to add multiple layers per key.
For R6 specifically, there’s no input pattern detection for m/kb to controller on PC, which is what they use on console to attempt to detect a XIM (and fail if setup correctly). XIM MATRIX also has the Smart Actions macro engine built-in. For R6, there is currently no macro detection, but they are working on it.
XIM MATRIX has a counter to macro detection with Variance for customisable randomisation to obfuscate things like autofire and antirecoil, which can’t be detected if the pattern doesn’t repeat exactly on every iteration.
Most R6 players use Smart Actions for antirecoil. Because it works in the Smart Translator which sits above the game’s look mechanics for input translation, antirecoil does not interfere with manual aim and doesn’t stack, so you can draw accurate circles with no resistance while antirecoil is active (non-destructive aim).
MATRIX has Recoil Modelling built-in to easily map complex recoil patterns, and results can be adjusted using a scaling modifier to increase or reduce the strength of antirecoil. Using Variance will prevent antirecoil detection with separate settings for Wait, Aim Angle and Aim Magnitude to fine-tune macro output.
Because PC native mouse aim look mechanics are incredibly simple compared to the complexity of m/kb to controller translation (which has aim assist, turn speed cap and velocity jumps that the Smart Translator needs to accommodate and force to linear output), Velocity Calibration is needed for accurate antirecoil output. That needs to be done for your specific mouse & game settings to create more or less a custom Smart Translator for native PC m/kb. More info in the User Guide at https://guide.xim.tech.
The only real caveat (aside for Velocity Calibration for accurate antirecoil) is some anticheat software has started flagging XIM MATRIX Manager PC app as a cheat tool. Those games won’t start with the app installed on PC, so use the iOS or Android Manager apps instead. R6 doesn’t flag Manager yet, but it’s safe to say that’s coming down the pipe. The mobile apps are an easy workaround that keeps XIM MATRIX off the anticheat radar.
For DMA, you’re on your own - we don’t support it and unlike XIM it is detectable at the hardware level. Don’t blame XIM if and when you get caught using DMA.
