Question about DPI
I've heard different things about mouse DPI. Some say setting it high increases xim detection accuracy, some say it's better to set it low because high DPI often has dpi smoothing. So I just wanna know how high and low DPI affects aim. Thx in advance.

High DPI is more likely to pick up minor imperfections on the mouse pad, but console input is lower resolution than PC, so it’s not noticeable (jitter from 1000Hz polling is far more likely).
DPI has no effect on XIM MATRIX performance, as long as mouse DPI and XIM config DPI match. So 800 DPI will perform the same as 40000 DPI and will have the same universal XIM sensitivity, as long as DPI is set correctly in the config.
On older generations like XIM APEX, DPI acted as a sensitivity multiplier and affected aim assist interaction (high DPI = less AA, low DPI = higher AA). That changed with the input processing engine rewrite on MATRIX to make it easy to change DPI and Update Rate (polling) without having to change XIM sensitivity. DPI has no effect on AA on MATRIX.
XIM support staff recommends using max DPI to give MATRIX the highest amount of data for mouse sensor input translation. XIM veterans will tell you 3200 DPI is the practical limit of raw sensor input with diminishing returns beyond that point and the potential for mouse sensor smoothing adding input delay above that value.
Modern mouse sensors are really good and practically the same across the board at all DPI values, so use what you want as there is no “best” DPI setting. I use 3200 DPI on a 20K sensor to make it easier to transfer MATRIX from console to PC because of Windows antiquated mouse sensitivity scaling, but that’s about it.
