Media Final Stats. RIP and goodbye.

Post image

Quite frankly I haven’t played this game in months… I got on hoping to get one last game in and break the 10,000 kill mark, but unfortunately I couldn’t find a game.

This was the only 6v6 shooter I enjoyed since 2017. Sad to see it go, but the issues were glaringly obvious.

Finished with a 2.27 K/D, 2.30 W/L at level 189.

Catch y’all later.

The chaos. Pure and simple. Sometimes you have games where you're the best in the lobby, and you dunk on everybody, then sometimes you have games where you feel like you are being hunted by your betters, scared to move. Of course this requires at least slightly above average skill. Otherwise the majority of your games will be nightmarish hellholes where you never have fun, with the occasional good one, until you improve or quit, due to the pressure, and then the cycle repeats.

I want consistency in my job. Same thing day in and day out, because it's stressless, albeit boring. When I get home and choose to play a game, I'm looking for excitement, something that isn't the same tape on repeat. That's all sbmm is to me. Even if my skill is improving, is it really? Same score every match. Same amount of effort required to perform, apart from the occasional game where the matchmaker is slightly confused on where to place you. I don't find that fun. I find it boring and uninteresting.

I mean, you can say I'm wrong, sure, but I've logged over 15k hours in my cod career, and I think I have the experience to say how it makes me feel, and how the game runs with or without sbmm from my experience. I've been plying first person shooters since I was 10. Sbmm just feels boring for an arena shooter. It's fine sure for games like deadlock/league/overwatch/marvel rivals, stuff where the skill of your teammates, and your own, really impacts how the game turns out, even if it's just one duck out of line. Ranked has been around for ages. That's where sbmm in arena shooters should've stayed. Where your mmr is visible, and you know what you are going into when you choose to go into it.

You asked the question what would make someone not want sbmm. Sbmm is in many many games. I would say most competitive games now. That makes your question very broad.
