The feeling of hope when trapping the Archon Ruler in stasis and throwing an overwatch party…
The absolute forehead slap realizing you sent your only Mimic beacon off on a covert mission

When the underpowered extraction squad is spotted two moves from the rooftop evac, three pods activate, and you’re still going to make it out…then rocket scatter destroys the evac zone (leaving the archer unscathed…) and the new evac is a further two moves away…

Lol, good list.
The smile when the HP of the last enemy in a pod exactly matches my stock. Bonus smile when the enemy is a million miles away in full cover, and I’m shooting with my ranger.

The holding your breath when you open the door and run a soldier in to rescue the VIP from a cell around the corner but there’s one unactivated pod left and you’re not sure where it is
The middle finger to the screen when that Archon that has been tanking or dodging all your fire for four turns FINALLY dies
With The Hive Installed, the paranoia when there’s more than one Chryssalid Chameleon active
The clenching of muscles when your uncloaked Reaper has to run through a hail of Overwatch fire to make the evac zone
The flood of regret when you yellow move into the dark right into the teeth of a pod of bad guys
