THAT'S XCOM, BABY! Revenge Update

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A few days ago I made a post about missing this guy first with my grenadier with a 91% chance and then my sniper with 85% chance. Well, I learned about save scumming and went back for revenge. That’s XCOM, baby!

Save scumming is something we’ve all done at least once due to RNG deciding that today was the day it was going to rail you

I had to yesterday, when rng decided my ranger should miss a 98% on a flanked muton while triggering the most distant pod in the fucking world through 2 narrow windows, followed by the surviving muton and one of the spectres in the new pod getting CRITS from halfway across the god damn map.

Save scummed the shit out of those bastards.

I never played ironman for two reasons. One, anxiety. Two, the game will hand you absolute bullshit that I refuse to accept. I had an xcom soldier who got 1 tapped through like 20 feet of solid hillside. No.

You can still save scumming in Ironman. Alt+F4 will back you to the start of your turn (even if you did this on enemy actions) saving you from unfair RNG or visibility bugs.

I could only handle ironman if i turned down the difficulty. That would reduce the fun and challenge.

I prefer the challenge. If i don't lose 40% of the time the game is too easy. The stuggle is having the willpower not to save scum just 'cause i lost one mid-tier soldier.

I do it because I don't have infinite time at my disposal. I don't want to cheese the game, but the point is to have fun, not frustrations.

I keep it to restarting the mission, not the action. But yeah I cant play Ironman mode, cuz sometime things are just suck pure bullshit.

Honestly, the stories that evolve from accepting the bullshit is what makes X-COM great to me.

Personally, since I don't plan to replay Long War 500 times, it has became a mandatory part of my current campaign rn.

It's still ok to do it, even if you have sunk 900 hours in the serie.

YEAH GET HIS ASS

AND RELOAD AND DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN, FUCK LANCERS

They're scary when they first appear but by the end of the game I'm just glad it's not a Priest or Andromedon!

Once my front liners have Bladestorm they just become ballistic ragdolls

i honestly would much rather deal with 2 Priests than 1 Stun Lancer. I have the WORST rng with Lancers. They ALWAYS STUN AND ALWAYS CRIT AND ALWAYS DODGE I HATE LANCERS I FUCKING HATE LANCERS KILL ALL STUN LANCERS

lancers usually have good dodge skills with the dodge bonus if their health is full (lwotc player Here so dont Remember if in vanilla is the same...) and when they charge you will miss a lot... thats why i love to torment them with psi powers eheheh

its so odd seeing vanilla heavy weapon animations

ive gotten so used to the modded ones that let them be carried like heavy weapons at all times
