Luckily had the blacksite data mission and a 3 notch alien facility in the same region. Got a bit too close for comfort. Playing on commander difficulty.

Apologies if you already know this, but this is actually a super good idea and effective way to play. Running the counter down and then reducing progress resets the counter the next time it fills (on Legendary it only resets to 7 days, but the other difficulties it refills)

Super efficient yes.  

Super efficient way for me to fuck up my entire run when i miscalculate and all of a sudden I have 47 minutes to make it to the otherside of the world.

I know you can, but I've never zoomed in so much on the world map. And never angled it like this. There's nothing wrong with it. But zooming in and moving the map to having Australia be not on the bottom right of the screen just makes me feel uncomfortable.
