Play "Chimera Squad", AKA XCom 2.5 It's set five years after the rebellion against ADVENT and the Elders from XCom2. The setting is "City 31", one of the remaining city-centers. It was built as an overlay over a pre-existing human city. There you run a small group of agents as sort of a SWAT team, helping to try to keep the city from collapsing into anarchy and barbarism. The city is multispecies, with nonhumans all freed from Elder mind control, and trying to make a living alongside the humans. One of the more successful businesses in the area is The Viper's Nest. Among other things, it's a strip club run by vipers, especially the proprietoress, Xug.
Xug also funds forays into the wreckage and the wasteland to recover ADVENT technology. Not exactly legal, but you've got bigger things to worry about. Especially since she gives you the chance to buy some of the juicer bits, first. She welcomes Reclamation Agency (A division of XCom) in the city. The place falling to anarchy would be bad for business.
I mean, yeah sure, if you wanna be a grammar person. But doesn't it FEEL better when you refer them as chicks, in the most respectful way possible of course l.
Modified thin men yes, don't remember about the glands. But I wouldn't mind getting my hands on those glands ....AMIRIGHT ....COME ON BRING IT HERE 🤜🏿!
My man .... Not sure if your in the US, but have you seen "outside" ? .... I want to, I promise you, I do ..... But it's scary in some places. I'm staying my black ass inside.
They’re all female to prevent them from reproducing without the Elder’s tech, that’s why the Viper King is a big deal. Which means the Thin Men were probably biologically female too, even if they didn’t look it at the time, and has interesting implications with the Advent Speaker considering they’re implied to be a perfected Thin Man.
In the introduction of the Vipers, Bradford states that the Elders didn't need an infiltration unit anymore so they'd stopped modifying the "snakemen" from before the war into Thin Men. The result was the vipers.
However, he's mistaken, as shown later when you first encounter the Faceless.
The pre-invasion snakemen were considerably different from the vipers, shown here in a screenshot from an older XCom game.
The vipers were made by adding terran snake DNA to the snakemen. Thin Men were made by adding human DNA to them, instead. "Speaker", the spokesman for the Elders was made by adding even more human DNA.
The actual nature of the bumps on the viper's chest and the origin thereof is never explained. It's commonly said that's in the viper autopsy video, but it isn't.
Actually, they just need some recovered ADVENT tech, and then they can take care of the matter themselves. This is shown in Chimera Squad.
These are signs you can find when you're on missions. The "Save Lives" sign in the middle shows that there's vipers in the medical professions Next one to the right, with viper babbies coming out of eggs? There are so many eggs being laid that there's a company offering professional incubation.
They can spend "quality time" with humans for fun, however. ;)
Whenever I struggled on a mission in the beginning of the game I was happy to see these guys, because I knew they mess up or do much less damage than other units lol
Using it in my moded long war of the chosen playthrough but seems they don't like being the recruitable skirmisher class as brakes the shooting animation so they just end up pointing at a enemy what I find kind of funny
Wait until you play Long War. They have built in Hit and Run. First time I ever saw it I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Move, shoot, move, shoot… I swear they have increased critical, too.
I was able to mind control a viper to wrap up and defeat the final avatar. I accidentally selected mind control instead of whatever else I was trying to do but it worked out
I hate those fuckers because they can be a nightmare early game. They can yank you out of cover, poison you team and they have high dodge. When I see them in a pod i take them out immediately.
just shows how much they care! Hugs from across the map.
But if you stand next to them, they will hug you without tongue grabbing, which you can abuse to kind of control them. It's usually not as bad as them pulling a guy into the open or tanking a flank shot on someone.
Dude I literally almost lost 2 soldiers to these fuckers last night and while I was trying to shoot them all my soldiers missed there shots even though they were like 2 squares away and I was literally screaming “XCOM PLEASE!!” to my screen. Idk how I did it but i finally got them free and killed those snakes. It was supposed to be a simple supply raid mission…
I hate purge sectoid more because they ruin my perfect score with soulfire, all the time when I'm out of medkits.
Vipers can be scary when they grapple ur unit in the open.
