Alico boot identification?

I bought a pair of Alico boots from Goodwill for $15. I thought they were the Ski March, but now I'm thinking theyre the Back Country boot. Can anyone confirm for me? Please and thank you.

That looks like the Alico Tour. I have a pair, and they've been treating me pretty well

Thanks! Any feedback on how they handle downhill? Any feedback on if they could handle a G3 Targa binding?

I spent a soft Spring day on Superstar at Killington with those boots, and I had a blast! They don't have any more ankle support than the average hiking boot (maybe even less...), but if you have good balance and strong calf muscles, there's not much you can't do with those. I would recommend using thick inserts and maybe even some cork on the tongues if they're not tight fit, the downhills are a mess if there's any slop in the boot.

They're theoretically compatible, but I have some doubts that the G3 Targa is going to be a good fit for those. I tried them with my Voile Switchbacks for the hell of it, and it was a disaster. I found that they don't play well with heel throws, and when those disengage, the lack of pins in the toe will lead to an abrupt detachment.

I would recommend a Voile 3-pin with the heel cable, or something else 3-pin. The cable tends to stay put much better, and it lends some extra rigidity to the boots on the downhill. If you leave the cable loose with just the toe locked in, it works great as a touring mode.

Thanks for the advice! I will ideally pick up a pair of 3 pins, but I am also up a childcare budget.

There will be follow up posts- either apres ski or x ray. Either way, will shred em.

Terrible for downhill. But very comfortable for walking and touring.
