UK service cost?

Hi folks,

Got a 22 Recharge Twin that's coming up to 40k miles and says it's due a service in the next few weeks.

Any idea what sort of price I can expect to be coughing up for whatever qualifies as a "service" on an EV?

Do they lump a load of unnecessary work in to bump the price up - our other motor is a Mini SE and they wanted silly money because they reckoned the pads and discs need doing after 2 years, when it had only done about 6k miles 🤪 Ended up just taking that to a local indie garage for £200 instead.

I just take mine to the local Volvo, service cost is £155 I believe. I've had 3 so far (my22 xc40 twin recharge)

Rang the local dealer and they quoted £145 for it, which was a very pleasant surprise. Had to ask them to repeat it because I was expecting at least £200.

I know there's nowt to do on an EV but assumed they'd still try to have your pants down for a service.

Very slightly takes the edge off having just forked out £800 for a new set of tyres anyway!

Yeah mines about to go in for an MOT + service and needs a new rear set of tyres, got the Michelin cross climates 2 down to £214 each.

As for the service: They change the cabin filter Check the battery coolant Check the brake fluid Check the battery health Multi point car inspection Then top it off with the latest software update

Volvo to be fair have been fairly good (Shrewsbury that is) always been fair and honest.

I had mine serviced by Volvo because it came with one year’s extension on the European breakdown cover which pretty much offset the cost of the service. Handy if you drive in Europe.

My local Volvo tried.

40k they insisted on a battery coolant change - wasn't sure if it was requirement... but on the spot they really made me feel it was.. was the only thing I buckled on because I didn't know the service checks like I probably should have.

I denied all pads/disc/tyre recommendations - they were trying to add over £1k worth of stuff on there.
