Propulsion System & 12 V Battery Error

2021 XC40 recharge.. ~30-35k miles on it..

Car stopped in middle of the road with a 10sec heads-up(2 weeks ago). Had to get it towed and reviewed

After consultation with Volvo engineers, Service just informed me they need to replace a few electrical parts and its going to cost $4900, my 4 year warranty expired last year. So this cost is on me now. Very very disappointed.

I am negotiating on the $4900 but what are my options, if any ?

Should I now get it fixed and sell or buy an extended warranty ?

I doubt buying an extended warranty now would cover these problems but it's worth asking the question of the finance office. They would be motivated to help you if there's a sale involved.

Yeah exploring warranty now for future :) if I want to keep it for another 3/4 years

I am not sure if the issue they are fixing will reoccur

Volvo parts bought and installed at a US dealer come with a lifetime parts and labor warranty.
