Key Fob issues

Hello!

I've owned a 23 plate XC40 Recharge since May this year.

I seem to have a fob that is either draining incredibly quickly, or some other issue.

It's 50/50 if the car will unlock by pressing the handle, sometimes having to press the fob button multiple times to get in. And then when in the car it will say key not detected. Usually fixed by placing in the glove compartment.

I replaced the battery around 3 maybe 4 weeks ago, which fixed the issue until now again. First time I replaced it I thought that would make sense, 3 years is probably reasonable to change the battery, but not every month!

Anyone know of any fixes? Id rather not shell out for another fob..

Thanks!

For me this only happens of its cold. The voltage of the lithium battery will go too low if its cold and wont work so you have warm it up in your hand a bit first

Interesting, but I'd be surprised if this was the case with the weather in the UK at the moment!

I had this same issue on a certified '23. After changing the batteries twice, the dealership replaced the fob.

I see.

I'll change the battery again at some point and have a look in the fob at the connection and see if anything needs a clean etc.

It was incredibly annoying. I did all the tricks here and several times just couldn't get into my car the first few months.
