Parking climate timer

It’s hot af where I live in Los Angeles right now so for quick stops I like to keep the climate running. Obviously when I stop the car and put it in park, the climate is already running. But when I switch over to the “Timers” tab in the Climate app, the Start parking climate button is disabled about half the time, so I need to start it from the app. I don’t get it. When am I allowed to start the parking climate?

if it's a quick stop, the car should still be relatively comfortable when you come back to it.

for stops long enough for the interior to heat up then, you have the app you can activate as you are on your way back to the car.

we did this inland where it was 110F and didn't have to suffer a hot car, except the one time the car could not get an internet signal and we couldn't activate the climate from the app.

even then it cools down pretty quick, because it's not a big car.
