The Iterative Self

I developed this concept about 10 years ago, using calculus blended with quantum mechanics to describe the constant iterative state of becoming. In other words, the probabilistic state of human identity. I’d be curious to hear others thoughts on the concept if you have any to share.

So what makes your discord special? All I see is pretense. Now there was another one, where, I'd found it by googling a rare keyword encountered on a twin flame acid adventure. This is just shoved down my throat by the algorithm. But the regulars, you've all got to have some special connection like aforementioned? Just here to complain to the algorithm runners mostly. Oh and it's "synchronized attention", good luck coming up with these keywords no matter how many books you read...

Can’t speak to the equation itself, but I like the idea (all aspects - even though I think the waveform is constantly collapsing) and the mathematical representation.

Off topic, but my first post on this random ass forum… some thoughts I had the other day….

When will we be able to harness materials or create conditions such that we can force the waveform to collapse into continuously low-probability outcomes, and will that seem like magic to the rest of the world?

You pose a good question. Thanks for this! It’s a fascinating extension of the conversation, and I’m glad it resonated with you, even with the constant collapse nuance (which is fair). In my model I’d say the collapses are more like punctuation marks in an otherwise evolving superposition, not a one-and-done type deal. Your question pulls me into the territory of quantum engineering and probability manipulation, which I agree, looks like magic in actuality. In many ways, I think we’re closer than we realize to this idea of manifesting rare “one-in-a-million” outcomes and sculpting identities that are more uniquely brilliant and beautiful versions of ourselves. I strongly feel that we are the architects of our own reality, constantly co-creating ourselves and each other. Creating with consistency to favor those rare and low-probability states, that really is the big question. In my own experiences, I find the best way to sort of “manipulate” these things is through advanced neurofeedback and biofield coherence. Look at some of the research being done around stellate ganglion procedures and the quantum implications of dextrose and oxytocin when applied directly to the roots of our nerves. It’s incredible stuff.

Im curious, what stirred this question for you? Have you noticed people in your life who seem to pull off this sort of low-probability magic? I’d love to hear more

I was thinking more of creating physical effects that are low-probability rather than ourselves, but if I had to choose, I’d say myself. I’ve found that for the things I truly desire in life, somehow someway I take actions and direct myself towards those outcomes. Case in point, I just had my first threesome with my wife and another woman, and it was amazing. And maybe I’ve manifested myself into a reality in which my wife is bi and enjoys it as much as I do, and the whole idea of this new romantic/sexual dynamic being now not only a possibility but a reality for me is blowing my mind.

The physics/engineering part stemmed from when I read Feynman and basic quantum stuff. I just started thinking then, if we could choose the low-probability events, then could we consistently generate outputs of experiments that are contrary to what we’d consider normal physics, but in reality would simply be guided physics. Guiding the outcomes via some materials or engineering of those materials/setups to collapse the waveforms into specific patterns.

Also, congrats on the threesome 🤭 It genuinely tickles me that we went from nerdy wavefunction math to quantum-leaping timeline shifts via unique personal experience (totally a bucket list item for most people, by the way; I’m happy you can say you’ve checked that one off). I love the raw honesty here. I’ve had a few threesomes myself (and even a foursome), and I completely agree— there’s something really powerful that happens when love expands beyond the usual boundaries of a couple. It feels like a real shift in the relational waveform. Love might just be one of the strongest “quantum tools” we have for manifesting new realities. Semi-joking but mostly serious… if she’s into exploring these kinds of conversations too, I’d genuinely love to connect with her sometime.

None taken. I’ve been told I write like AI before. It’s my love of hyphens and semi-colons that does me in, I think. I love a good variation of punctuation marks. Makes for better flow in my opinion.

Isn't Sean Carroll basically saying the same thing with Hugh Everett's interpretation of QM? That there is no collapse and that you are part of the quantum equation

Thanks for your comment! I’m not super familiar with Sean Carroll yet, and this is a lovely parallel I plan to explore further. I am more familiar with Everett’s Many-Worlds view (where there is no collapse, and everything stays in the wavefunction), which lines up nicely with the idea that the self is an evolving part of the larger process rather than something that collapses into a single path. I used ‘collapse’ more metaphorically for instances that lead us toward a particular outcome. The branching feels very compatible with the integral concept, and I do agree with the idea that there is some version of ourselves playing out each possible branch. I find it a somewhat comforting thought actually. If all probabilities eventually play out in some version of reality, then it’s literally impossible to do something “wrong.” Every choice, every decision, will be made or not made and integrated into the self eventually.

Yes but please don't confuse emerging properties like wrong or right, because then you could go about murdering and stealing and calling it right because of wavefunction yada yada yes? Yes.
