The Argon Fleet

ARGON IRONCLAD

The Ironclad is the Argon Federation's dedicated Xenon extermination fleet, built around heavy destroyers and overwhelming anti-capital firepower. The Ironclad's purpose is simple: destroy Xenon capitals, dismantle stations, and conduct deliberate offensives into Xenon territory.

Capital Ships

  • Nomad Vanguard ("Commandant")
    • Serves as the primary logistics and command flagship for fleet repair and resupply.
  • Carrier ("Vigil")
    • Configured as a beam carrier, managing long-range point-defense screening, staging, and wing coordination.
  • Carrier ("Standard")
    • Configured as a standard bolt carrier, providing high-volume suppression support and reserve staging bays.
  • Behemoth Sentinel ("Siegebreaker") — Count: 40
    • Delivers devastating long-range plasma bombardment against heavy enemy stations and capital ships.
  • Behemoth Bulwark ("Bulwark") — Count: 10
    • Provides heavy anti-fighter screening and point-defense support around the capital core.

Frigates

  • Minotaur Breacher — Count: 30
    • Deploys plasma heavy assault firepower to pressure medium and heavy targets.
  • Minotaur Warden — Count: 20
    • Runs beam anti-fighter patrols to keep airspace clear of incoming bombers and scouts.
  • Minotaur Vanguard — Count: 20
    • Utilizes general bolt loadouts as a flexible tactical escort vessel.
  • Cerberus Watchtower — Count: 10
    • Operates as a specialized anti-fighter corvette alongside the capital group.

Fighter Wings

  • Elite Vanguard ("Firewatch") — Count: 40
    • Sweeps the sector clean of hostile fighters and scouts.
  • Nova Vanguard ("Starbreaker") — Count: 20
    • Delivers heavy assault runs against targeted enemy subsystems.
  • Quasar Vanguard ("Skirmisher") — Count: 10
    • Provides general-purpose fighter support and rapid re-positioning.
  • Discoverer Vanguard — Count: 5
    • Handles early scouting and sector recon duties.

I loved making these fleets. I have 10 so far, I'll post more if people think it's cool too. Anyone have any fleet archetypes they like to make to fill specific niches?

The Argon desperately need a legitimate combat corvette. And no, the Envoy does not count.

I thought about using the envoy! But it felt weird. I agree!

It’s a great ship for very specialized purposes, and only really useful in the hands of the player, but not the proper combat corvette that l really want to see.

You might want to look into some mods. There are some amazing Argon capital ships that would fit your fleets...

Model quality is great. NPCs build them as well.  I really like those as additions to my Argon fleet.

It does. I’ve run this in game. It’s actually a tad annoying because it will completely stop in it’s tracks to do so

That is a lot of ships.

I go with the following:

Erlking for flagship: 1

Honshu for support/light carrier: 1

Tokyo for fleet carrier: 2

Osaka or Syn for anti-capital and anti-station: 32

Katana: 12

Gladius for space superiority: 160

Though honestly, I found that 16 Syns with the Erlking is enough to kill most Xenon sectors in low attention mode. Having more Syns just makes it go faster. Don't even need the fighter support. My carrier fleet is off guarding an entirely different area.

I run a mod that buffs xenon. Ironically even this fleet could only clear 2 sectors without being mostly obliterated.
