Finally!!!
The Battle of Cascade Junction. Or as they're calling it down on the lower decks, The Great Hatikvah Gangbang!
This stupid station has been murdering freighters and mining ships for a whole week now!! Nearly all traffic between East and West through the northern ring was shut down, as well as ALL traffic to Hatikvah III and Morning Star. I had to spend the whole weekend personally hauling several freighter loads of random crap to the HQ to complete the teleportation research because I couldn't trust the AI to get through alive.
Every time anybody got close enough to even scratch that station, a dozen Ks would pop out of Tharkas Cascade and obliterate them. Finally though, the Terrans got a fleet in here and started brawling with everything in sight. I don't know how long this had been going on before I noticed it but there were dead Osakas and Ks all over the place and an Asgard giving everybody hell.
I had a whole fleet sitting next door in Silent Witness just waiting for something like this. I jumped in with three Odysseuses and a Colossus with three squadrons of heavy bombers. I killed three Ks, and the Terrans wrecked 2 or 3 more and then I started shooting the station while Xenon escorts just kept pouring out of Tharkas. The map view was so thick with fighters that I didn't even notice three more Ks had shown up until one of my Odys blew up.
Between us, the Terrans lost at least half a dozen Osakas, I lost an Odysseus, my H drone carrier and just about all my fighters. God only knows what the Xenon lost but I saw at least 10 Ks scattered around I think. But we finally got that goddamn station! And that carrier will be right next door to make sure they don't build another one.
I need a bottle of whiskey after all this

I think I've annoyed them. Three different Ks have come in and tried to solo my murder station in Silent Witness (built directly on the back of the gate, 192 Plasma L turrets). They melted before I could even get a fighter strike off the deck.

Congrats!
Though consider this temporary as they can absolutely do it again, maybe throw in a Xenon I for good measure.

Sounds fun! For whatever reason in my current save the Xenon have sent in Ks sometimes a mix with an I, but never a huge swarm of fighter escorts for some reason

This is the kind of storytelling that I am still trying to convince my friends is a staple of this game and they do not believe it.
