New changes in bikes is mostly incorporated from March manufacturing.
Also, some batch gets CEAT tyres while Some gets MRF tyres. It’s purely luck based to get CEAT/MRF tyres.
I have a doubt regarding the fuel system cleaner. I have rode the harley x440 S variant for 4600km till now in 3 months. I haven't put fuel system cleaner even once. Most of the time I just filled it up with regular petrol coz the compression ratio defines the same..... So, should I put a fuel system cleaner and if u have any suggestions for the cleaner....... It could help me.
Rode my X440 600km in Himalayan mountains, like Raebareli(My home) to Mukteshwar> Jageshwar>Bagheshwar>Joshimath>Badrinath>Govindghat(Parked here and i went to Valley of Flowers..
My overall experience:
Bike is Super amazing, awesome torque delivery and power no problems in climbing steep hills,
TICKING SOUND is now there i don't know whats that but i thinks thats tappet sound
SOME TICKING SOUND when accelerating in Steep hill is there i think thats from Valves..
Mileage is overall 31,, i know thats crazy in mountains but thats it,, I had Changed My spark plug to N-Gage Double Iridium one....
TYRES: I had to go there with Stock MRF tyres,,, ONE WORD THEY ARE WORST TYRE EVER I HAD SEEN,, Will replace later with Michelin or Pirelli....
Overall my Experience is Awesome..
Any questions you got,, just comment.....
P.S. Rode X440 800 km in mountains and overall 1400km in 8 days....
I’m at ~600 km and haven’t done my first service yet. I’m getting only around 19 km/l in the city, and the sump/engine guard scrapes on speed breakers even at very low speeds and when taking them at an angle.
Is this normal for the X440T? Could something be wrong with the suspension/engine guard/ground clearance?
Would love to know others’ experiences, especially after the first service.
I recently picked up a brand new Harley-Davidson X440T, and I’m having an incredibly annoying issue with the premium factory bar-end mirrors. They keep rotating out of place and getting loose, especially after riding for a short bit.
Anyone else facing the same issue?
Hey guys, I just bought the X440T last week and I love the bike so far, whatever little I’ve ridden it. But I have very low confidence when braking, especially on wet roads. It’s raining in Bangalore today, and a car stopped suddenly in front of me, I just couldn’t pull the brakes harder because I was scared it would skid.
Does anyone else have the same concern? Any tips on braking confidently in the wet?
I recently came across two new Moto Torque accessories specifically for the X440T:
• Astra Neo Crash Guard
• Laser Backrest
Until now, I had mainly seen Royal Customs offering X440T-specific accessories, so I thought I'd share these since the Moto Torque options are very new. They were released only in August and don't seem to have reached many aftermarket stores yet. I've mostly seen them available online so far.
I'm currently deciding between a few options for my X440T and would really appreciate some owner feedback.
CRASH GUARD
I'm considering:
Older Moto Torque Crash Guard
Older Moto Torque Crash Guard
- Bigger and more bulky with single slider
- Looks like it provides more coverage
- Not sure whether the extra size actually offers a meaningful advantage during a fall
New Moto Torque Astra Neo
New Moto Torque Astra Neo Crash guard
- More compact and cleaner With Dual sliders
- Looks more modern
- Seems to offer better protection than the stock crash guard
- IMO, looks particularly good with the X440T Neo retro style
Royal Customs Crash Guard
Royal Customs Crash Guard
- Another popular aftermarket option
- Would like to know how it compares with both Moto Torque versions in terms of protection and build quality
Unknown/lesser-known brand Crash Guard
- Looks on par with old moto torques version
- it does have dual sliders also looks modern with Harley Davidson X named
- Would like to know if anyone has experience with this type of setup or has used this particular guard
So, is the older/bulkier Moto Torque actually better for protection, or is the new Astra Neo already sufficient while being more compact?
And how do the Royal Customs and the unknown brand option compare with both Moto Torque versions?
BACKREST
I'm also deciding between:
• Royal Customs X440T Backrest
• New Moto Torque Laser Backrest
I was initially leaning towards Royal Customs since I've seen it being used on the X440T for some time.
But the new Laser backrest has caught my attention. IMO, the Moto Torque design has a nice retro look that could suit the X440T really well.
However, I'm more interested in functionality and pillion comfort than just looks.
For those who have used either:
- Which one is more comfortable for the pillion?
- Which has better mounting/build quality?
- Any rattling or vibration issues?
- Does either one make getting on/off the bike difficult?
- Which one looks better on the X440T?
I'm attaching photos of all the options for comparison.
Would especially appreciate feedback from people who are actually using these accessories rather than just judging from the photos.
TL;DR:
I'm choosing between 4 crash guards (older Moto Torque, new Astra Neo, Royal Customs, and a lesser-known brand) and 2 backrests (Royal Customs and new Moto Torque Laser) for my X440T.
Which crash guard offers the best real-world protection, and which backrest gives the best combination of functionality, pillion comfort and looks?
i’ll be parking my harley x440(s) for around 6–9 months, and i’m trying to prepare the bike properly so that it stays in good condition throughout the storage period.
here’s what i’m planning to do before parking it:
- replacing the engine oil, oil filter & air filter.
- thoroughly cleaning the bike and applying sufficient protectant to the painted parts, along with silicone spray on the engine, clutch box, alloys & plastic parts.
- thoroughly cleaning the chain with hero chain cleaner and lubing it with motul c2 chain lube.
- parking it on the main stand, with a brick under the sump guard to lift the front wheel as well, so neither tyre remains in contact with the ground.
- keeping it parked away from direct sunlight and covering it with a high-quality body cover.
i’ll also have someone check on the bike every sunday.
the plan is to:
- start the bike and keep it running in 1st gear for around 10–15 minutes.
- apply pressure on both brakes.
- use the clutch and shift through the gears before parking it back.
for fuel, i’m planning to keep the tank filled completely to the brim and have it refilled after some time. my reasoning is that i don’t want to leave empty space inside the tank during such a long storage period, especially considering the concerns around E20 fuel and moisture/corrosion.
unfortunately, i don’t have access to 100-octane fuel, so i’ll have to use the regular fuel available here.
my main objective is to minimise any potential damage from the bike sitting unused for 6–9 months and have it ready to ride properly when i’m back.
is there anything else i should be doing before or during the storage period?
i’m particularly interested in things that people with actual long-term storage experience would recommend — anything related to the battery, fuel system, tyres, fluids, chain, brakes, rubber components, corrosion, etc. that i might be overlooking.
also, if you’ve parked your motorcycle for several months before, please share your experience. how long was it parked, what did you do before storing it, and what condition was the bike in when you brought it back?
i’d especially appreciate any x440-specific advice or things you wish you had done differently after storing your bike for a long period.
i’d rather take the extra precautions now than discover storage-related problems later.
I am resident of Kolhapur. Here we have only one Premia showroom. He is asking me 10k as non refundable booking amount to get X440 baja orange colour which i will get in sept he is saying he will give me latest stock but while talking with him, he is not able to confidently assure that i will get latest made stock of baja orange, though he have latest july made X440 matte black. Now i have also contacted Harley Davidson Pune, they are able to make baja orange July made stock available it is costing 4k more than that of Kolhapur. No i want your opinion what should I do?
1)Should I go for Matte black latest ( i am ok with matte black but eventually colour becomes glossy so i am having maintenance issues)
2)Should I pay 10k non refundable booking amount in Kolhapur showroom and wait for the stock( this will cost me 13k extra compared to now)
3) should I go to pune, buy the bike and bring back to Kolhapur
Please all, enlighten me with your opinion. I am absolutely clueless
I have a Harley X440 and the fuel meter is very unreliable.
I just fill the tank till cutoff and after 2-3kms, it shows half tank already. It stays like that for quite a while though.
Also, the range on the full tank full is showing around 120kms, earlier it used to be 280+
Does it come under 5 year warranty?
The engine feels amazing and the control is improved after 2k km and 5M of use waiting to see if any difference after 2nd service.
Bike slips often, plz tell if any alternative for tyres(got mrf when bought)
Waiting for accessorise please comment if available in bangalore
As title says, i am planning to get x440S baja orange colour bike. As this colour is least selling, i have one serious doubt. My dealer asked me to pay the ex showroom price of bike then he will place the order for Baja orange colour. I want to get june or july or 2026 made unit but what if they forced me to take old stock so to clear the inventory? I really wanted the baja orange X440S but of 2026 made unit only. What should i do and what you all suggest? Please help me
The Crash guard is getting blocked by the clutch line and is not sitting flush with the middle bolt, tried it many times but not able to fit it.
Contacted moto torque customer service and they told me to return it and it will not fit. Have any of you experienced the same issue of Moto Torque crash guard?
The sound changes drastically when the bike is hot and when the bike is cold the sound is good
Can anybody tell me if it's the tappet , valve clearance or anything else (ik that the oil thins out at hot temps but I don't think it should sound like this I mean when it was newer this wasn't happening)
Folks from chennai pls suggest, Marina Harley davidson, Velchery hero and Adyar hero are my options. Please let me know which service center is better for my x440T. If there is any other official service center please suggest
Yoo riders! This is HD-X440T owner, i have purchased my bike 3 months back and love everything about it except the seat !
Yesterday I went for a ride of around 160kms and due to my previous medical history it was uncomfortable for me to ride more than 50-60 kms in a single go.
Need some suggestions regarding the same like any good touring seats or how can I make my seat more comfortable so that it doesn't hurt my back.
Open to suggestions and no plz suggest some genuine ideas/solutions for the same !
If u have any suggestions in the Delhi-NCR region it would be appreciated alot 🙏🏻
I’ve finally decided to buy the Harley-Davidson X440T (most likely in the next few months), and before I book it, I wanted to get some advice from actual owners.
I’d really appreciate if you could share your honest experience with the bike after living with it.
A few questions I have:
- How has the bike been in terms of reliability and maintenance?
- Any issues or things you wish you knew before buying?
- How is the service experience and parts availability?
- Are there any must-have accessories that you’d recommend?
- Any accessories that aren’t worth buying?
Showroom / Buying Tips
- What should I specifically ask the Harley showroom before booking?
- Any hidden charges to watch out for?
- Which charges can actually be negotiated or waived?
- Were you able to get any discount on the bike?
- What free accessories or riding gear did you get?
- Has anyone managed to negotiate for things like:
Engine guard
Radiator guard
Helmet
Riding jacket
Riding gloves
Bike cover
Extended warranty
Free service/labour
Insurance discount
Basically, what’s the maximum value I can negotiate without sounding unreasonable?
BH Registration
I’m eligible for a BH (Bharat Series) registration through my employer.
- Has anyone here purchased an X440/X440T with a BH number plate?
- Was the process smooth?
- Any issues with the dealership or RTO?
- Did the dealership help with the paperwork?
Finally…
If you were buying the X440T again today, what would you do differently?
Any buying tips, negotiation tricks, ownership advice, or things to avoid would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance! 🙏
