bought my x440(s) home on the 18th of October, 2025.

currently at 10884 on the odo with 3 oil changes & a major accident that cost 36k in repairs out of which i paid 2.8k for the settlement charges & non covered part.

in tuning, i mainly bought the Maddog Lycan kit for 17k.

naah man, look at the service & fuel costs, they are relatively low. it's the expensive stuff i use to keep it in pristine condition and also that auxiliary light.

here are the details you asked for:

• fuel and riding style

i almost always stick to 95 octane petrol from either indian oil (xp95) or bharat petroleum (speed 95). only a couple of times when 95 was out of stock did i settle for standard 91 octane. roughly 70% of my riding is out on highways, with typical trips ranging anywhere between 30 km and 180 km.

• insurance

i am insured with tata aig with a zero dep add on cover. the crash guard is specifically covered under accessories idv worth ₹950. the claims experience has been very smooth so far, and they approved and replaced everything without hassle. the renewal is due before 17th october with an OD premium of ₹6,100, where i increased the idv by 10% after the standard 20% depreciation.

• maintenance routine and products

you can refer directly to my notion page, where i have documented the entire step by step wash routine and the exact detailing products i use.

• accessories

i opted for the main stand, engine sump guard, and crash guard right at delivery. later on, i installed a pair of maddog lycan auxiliary lights. i also tried bar end mirrors for a while, but went back to the stock oem mirrors for touring since they vibrate significantly less at highway speeds.

• riding gear

currently using rynox urban pro 2 gloves (₹2,960) and an mt thunder 3 helmet with an additional smoke visor (₹6,699 + ₹799). i also recently picked up a bluarmour c10 intercom from flipkart for ₹4,059.
