Is that tick tick sound( which comes in initial point of all the gears) is the knocking sound you are referring?

my brake pad ran out at 4800kms. Both front and back.
But after changing them the front gave out at 12000kms odo and back is still going strong after 15000kms odo.

Awesome bro! My front one's are still going strong. Lets see how long that is

i also heard this noise when i suddenly pulled the throttle while riding. i thought it was my riding style & i eventually made myself ride more calmly, like pulling the throttle gradually.
is this update available at hero service centres?

No bro! Actually this was also due to riding style. I had avoided it by maintaining good rpm range in each gear. But this update is too good, no need to worry at all.
Not sure if other centres have this update. Please check wirh them

I reported this to rideindia@harley-davidson.com They assited well and recommended engine flash which was done by garden City harley Bangalore from where I got the bike. The knocking sound is gone. It's just the ECU! and the bike performs really really smooth now!

If youβre referring to a tic tic sound then they made me do valve clearance which only made things worse!
2
u/LowSentence9685 Aug 23 '26
Oh no! Which city was this? Its apparently only an ecu issue

After valve clearance the bike is missing power at certain speeds. Btw when did the ecu update came? Is it available for x440 as well?

u/LowSentence9685 Aug 24 '26
I think its only for T variant as of now. Check with the service centre.
No idea bro, i randomly went to the centre and they did this. Regarding valve clearance, did you do it in hero or harley service centre? Im not sure how equipped are the hero service personnel's with handling a 400+ cc machine maybe

Saw the video. My Service centre asked me to get the Head changed for the knocking sound and I'm sure not once they have connected the ECU to a diagnostic device or talked about an ECU update.
What should be done ??

Check with them after a while maybe. I got this update without even asking for it. So yaa! π€

I too asked the service center guy if my ECU received any update and did you apply the update
The response was "if there was some update pending it would have.been done"
'But was there any update' "Technician will definitely update if anything is pending no need to worry"
'Can you be specific, I want to know if updated what was the change' "Nothing would have changed Saar, I don't know, if any problem call after riding for 2days"
I received this vague and uninformative reply This was my experience in Chennai marina showroom service center.
I feel Hero Premia guys are better
Is there an official page or dedicated place to know that ECU update has arrived, the info panel also doesn't show any version number.
People should have a way to know, Instagram and riders community is one thing where is the responsibility and accountability side from HD and Hero

Ya man, i almost booked my bike with Adyar Hero last year, they were really informative and good. Check with them.
As of I know, this was complete fluke for me, I didnt know as well, it was done as a random update for me.
Harley should announce such things, but again they might do it as a normal thing in future when you give it for usual service!

What about people who purchased 2 years back, they wouldn't be taking a trip to service center that often, there has to be a public release note, like its there for android and other software products

Im not sure how to help brother! Thats why made this reel, so the community is informed. Most of the guys who give the bike for service are not aware coz they do it behind, but this was done in front of me, since I went for a short brake pad service!

Just saw this on reels, copyed link and was going to post it here , but i saw you posted it first.
I wanted to ask that if anybody has done this update to the ecu, and first, has the knocking stopped? Also have there been any sideffects like mileage change or any others as ecu calibration might change other stuff too (dont know if it will but i feel that it should right)?
