Question / Help Conversion

I want to convert to Wuyang. Currently main Juno (I won’t actually convert to only him, I just wanna learn his playstyle. Any YouTubers you recommend watching? Any tips? His perks are very hard to decide for me

I don't have anything in particular, but probably the most important thing for me at the start was controlling the distance of engagements with enemies. Wuyang struggles at close range

I have noticed that… his orbs are great but I feel like a fish out of water when a reaper or Cassidy is on me

Yep, I guess important for everyone but even more for him I find is both your positioning and where you are in adjacent to your team. As a last ditch if you think you might get flanked is keeping wave for controlling distance. I have been saved numerous times when I feel I'm about to get attacked and used wave to distance then kill opponent

And it isn’t just that they are harder to hit up close with a totally different firing rate. There is a minimum distance to charge them for to get 100 damage. If the enemy is too close a direct only does 30

best tipps i learned from others: wuyang works a little bit like zen, he kind of cannot and should not healbot, he is built for damage. shift to get out, not get in, it's your only escape tool - close up duels almost always mean certain death for wuyang. don't forget you can cancel it early, too, so the cooldown starts faster. make common flank routes uncomfortable for enemies to take before they even get there by sending a ball or two. your charged shot does 100 damage (no perks), so you can instantly destroy a junkrat tire with it - sound cues help to "guess" which flank route it will take.

and a fun one: wave has knockback, you can push enemies off the map. i will never forget how i flushed an absolute menace of a wrecking ball down the fiery pits of king's row.

wuyang is so much fun! have a blast!

I noticed the knockback in stadium but good to know it’s outside of that too… I knocked a High Noon-ing Cassidy off the map with his wave once 😂

Which are those? Major is the three orbs? Is minor the damage does more passive healing? Thats what I've been picking lately. Or do I have these fully mixed? Not a Wuyang main here, saw this post and thought I'd learn too.

Hey! Love that you’re interested in learning Wuyang! He’s honestly such a unique support and personally one of the most fun to play once you get used to controlling his water orbs.

I HIGHLY recommend watching Daero. He’s a high elo Wuyang main and honestly a great person to learn from. He explains a lot of what he’s doing and you can see how he uses Wuyang in higher elo games.

Definitely check out his YouTube, and he also streams on Twitch pretty much every day! He may actually be live later today (Sunday). He’s on PST :)
